Dear Friends, I am grateful for the positive comments regarding the interior and exterior renovation of our church. The entire church is now illuminated at night- and it’s spectacular! The church tower has required more time and careful planning. The cracks in the tower were quite severe. Estimates are that if we waited another 3 to 5 years the entire tower would have to be removed! The work is ongoing and we are grateful to the expert workers doing this important job. We continue to offer mass during the week at 9 am in English and 7:30 pm in Spanish. Over 80 people (on average) are attending these masses which is wonderful. Bible Study in English is offered every Monday after the 9 am mass and Lectio Divina is offered every Wednesday in Spanish at 6:30 pm before the Spanish mass. All are welcome to attend. Let’s continue to pray for one another. —Fr Rick _______________________________________________ Bishop DiMarzio, will bless our church and offer a mass of thanksgiving on our parish feast of Saint Bartholomew – August 24 at 6:30 p.m. Please reserve the date and plan to celebrate with us. It seems a distance away but we all know…time flies! In the meantime I would like to invite you to pray this prayer every week for our parish: Almighty God, my parish is composed of people like me. I help make it what it is. It will be friendly if I am. It will be holy if I am. Its pews will be filled if I help fill them. It will do great work if I work. It will be prayerful if I pray. It will make generous gifts to many causes if I am a generous giver. It will bring other people into its worship if I invite and bring them. Queridos amigos, Estoy agradecido por los comentarios positivos con respecto a la renovación interior y exterior de nuestra iglesia. Toda la iglesia ahora está iluminada por la noche, ¡y es espectacular! La torre de la iglesia ha requerido más tiempo y una planificación cuidadosa. Las grietas en la torre eran bastante severas. Las estimaciones son que si esperamos otros 3 a 5 años, la torre completa debería ser eliminada. El trabajo continúa y agradecemos a los trabajadores expertos que hacen este importante trabajo. Continuamos ofreciendo misa durante la semana a las 9 a.m. en inglés y a las 7:30 am en español. Más de 80 personas (en promedio) asisten a estas misas, lo cual es maravilloso. DO YOU NEED A LETTER FROM YOUR CHURCH? In order to give letters of recommendation, letters attesting to character, sponsor certificates, and other documents that may have legal or religious purposes, it is required that persons requesting those documents be registered and be active members of St Bartholomew Parish at least three months prior to your request. We can not provide any of these documents to people not registered in the parish.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION (Confession) There are two times every Saturday for confessions in the main church: 4 pm and 6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the Chapel. We now have two priests assigned during these times to make it convenient and less time to wait. Please do your part….come as close as possible to these confession times. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity of God’s mercy and love.

FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM It’s only mid July and close to 700 children are now enrolled in the faith formation program. Space is limited and so are the number of catechists we have. We expect over 1000 children this year. You are encouraged to register your child NOW please do not wait any longer. We may need to close registration if we do not have the adequate space. We are blessed that more than 30 parishioners signed up to be catechists or assistants. Fr Rick was conducting their first training on Saturday, July 28 from 9 am to 12 noon.

Para poder otorgar cartas de recomendación, de buen carácter moral, como para ser padrinos de algún sacramento y documentos para propósitos legales o religiosos, se requiere que quienes necesitan estos documentos, estén inscritos y sean miembros activos de la Parroquia de San Bartolomé por lo menos tres meses antes de su solicitud. No podemos entregar ninguna certificación a las personas que no cumplan con estos requisitos.
