EFFICIENCY
- Assess the holding power of the school system
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
6. Cohort Survival Rate – The proportion of enrollees at the beginning grade (Gr. I/Gr. 7) who reach the final grade or year (Gr. 6/4th Year) at the end of the required number of years of study.

Gr. I enrolment, syn-5 (five years ago)
CSR s =Fourth year enrolment syn (present SY) x 100
1st year enrolment, syn-3(three years ago)
Note: Cohort requires the same group of enrollees at the beginning until the end of the required years. Transferred in pupils/students within the prescribed years of study are excluded in the count. There is no possibility that cohort survival rate will exceed 100%.
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
7. Promotion Rate also known as Efficiency Rate – is the percentage of pupils/students who were promoted in a certain level of education to the total number of pupils enrolled within the same year.

PR s = Gr. 7 to 4th Yr. promotees syn (present SY) x100
Gr. 7 to 4th Yr. total enrolment syn (present SY)
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
8. Repetition Rate – the proportion of pupils/students who had left, dropped or failed and enrolled in the same grade level more than once to the total number of pupils/students enrolled in that grade/year level during the previous year.
RR e = Number of Repeaters (Gr. I – VI) present SY x 100
Total Enrolment (Gr. I-VI) previous year
RR s =Number of Repeaters (Gr.7 to Yr.IV) present SY x 100
Total enrolment (Gr. 7 to Yr. IV) previous year
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
9. Retention Rate – is the proportion of the enrolment in any school year that continues to be in school the following year.
ReR e = Gr. II to VI enrolment syn (present SY) x100
Gr. I to V enrolment syn-1 (previous year)
ReR s =Gr. 8 to 4th yr. enrolment syn (present SY) x100
Gr. 7 to 3rd yr. enrolment syn-1 (previous yr.)
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
10. Dropout Rate – is the proportion of pupils/students who actually dropped/left during the present year to the total enrolment of pupils/students in the same year.
DR e = (Gr. I to VI)number of actual dropouts (present SY) x100
(Gr. I to VI) total enrolment of pupils (present year)
DR s =Number of actual dropouts (Gr. 7 to 4th Yr.) present yr. x100

QUALITY
- Measure the effectiveness of basic education provision in terms of learning achievement through examinations
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
13. Achievement Rate (use bench mark in the computation)
Step 1: MPS (NAT) for previous SY (Bench Mark) x 0.02 (2%
target of performance) plus MPS of previous SY = performance target
Step 2: Actual MPS (NAT) for the current SY minus Performance Target = (Increased/Decreased)
Step 3: Achievement Rate = Actual Increased/Decreased x 100
Performance Target
OTHER PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
14. Gross teacher-pupil ratio and gross teacher-student ratio – is the proportion of the enrolment at a certain level in a given year to the number of authorized positions for teachers at the same level in the same year.
TPR = Total enrolment (Gr.I-VI) for present SY

Note: Enrolment in school = Final Enrolment for the Current SY
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
15. Class-Pupil/Class-Student ratio – the proportion of the enrolment at a certain level in a given year to the number of classes in the whole school plant. Multigrade classes will be counted as one (1) class. If there are three (3) multigrade classes (ex. Gr. 1 & 2; Gr. 3 & 4; Gr. 5 & 6) in a school, then there will be three classes to be counted.
CPR = Total number of enrolment Gr. I to VI

Total number of classes
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
16. Pupil-Classroom Ratio/Student-Classroom Ratio – The proportion of the enrolment at a certain level in a given year to the number of classrooms actually used. (Elementary classrooms used by the secondary classrooms can not be counted as their usable classrooms, only classrooms intended for secondary use will be accounted for their use.)

SCrR = Total number of enrolment Gr. 7 to 4th Yr.
Total number of classrooms
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
17. Enrolment Growth Rate
Step 1: (Total enrolment from Gr. I to VI present SY) minus
(Total enrolment from Gr. I to VI previous) syn-1 equals difference
Step 2: Difference of enrolment (increased or decreased) x 100
(Total enrolment from Gr. I to VI present)
STATISTICAL PERFORMANCE
INDICATORS
18. Literacy Rate
