Phase in Plan for In-Person Instruction

October 5th is the first week of our phase in plan for in-person instruction, beginning with 9th grade students only. In-Person 10th grade students will be added on October 13th and 11th and 12th grade in-person students will begin the week of October 19th by cohort.

If Virtual Learning is chosen, you will remain in virtual learning throughout the phase in process. We will work closely with you regarding classes.

If you chose On-Campus, you will have a mix of Virtual and On-campus days.

This allows us to bring small groups of students in and practice protocols and procedures

Normal start and end times will take place on the days of On-campus

Normal busses will run for students attending in-person instruction.

Note: This is a normal school day, and the new policies and procedures for visitors, etc. will be followed

students who participate in these Varsity Athletics:

Football, Basketball, Golf, Tennis, Cheer, Swimming, and

Cohort 2 (Gold) - Students with Last Names L-Z and students in the following Varsity Fine Arts Classes: Band, Orchestra, Choir, Repertory Dance Company and Varsity Wrestling.

School Starts in-person on October 21st for 11th and 12th Students in our Gold Cohort.

Classroom Experience

Classrooms will be set up appropriately following all CDC and local health

guidelines.

Teachers will limit student movement within the classroom such as turning in

assignments, materials being passed out, etc.

Teachers will create assigned seating arrangements to ensure proper social

distancing and ease of contact tracing.

All student desks will be facing the same direction and will be adequately

spaced apart.

Students will avoid sharing supplies and will sanitize shared items after each use.

Hand sanitizer will be available in every classroom.

Students will be required to wear a mask at all times in the classroom.

Arrival

The AHHS Cafeteria will open at 8:00 am

Main Campus Doors will open at 8:15 am.

Students must complete the district daily symptom self-check before entering the building

Face coverings must be worn at all times upon entering the building.

Student drivers will continue to park in designated student parking areas.

Student Drop-Offs are only in the Hulen and Ashland Student Parking Lots.

The front bus lane is for busses only. No student drop offs in this area.

Arrival – cont’d

There is an exception allowing for earlier arrival of students

participating in athletic or other extra curricular activities

with a staff member. Those students must report at their

designated time to the appropriate staff member with a

pass.

All other students will report to their designated location for

1st/5th period class immediately upon entering the building.

Students with 1st/5th period “late arrival” must enter the

building through the main entrance between 9:50 AM and

10:00 AM.

Breakfast

The cafeteria will open at 8:00 AM for students who partake in school provided

breakfast.

Students are required to sanitize their hands before entering the cafeteria.

Point of Sale is touchless. Students MUST know their ID number in order to

receive their meal. As soon as school IDs are made, students will use their ID to

complete the meal purchase.

All meals will be served in individualized packaging.

Seating in the eating areas will follow social distancing standards.

Once seated, students will fill out a google form to designate their location.

Masks must be worn before eating and after finished eating.

Students must exit the cafeteria no later than 8:20 AM and report directly to their

1st/5th period location.

Dismissal

All exits will be available for students at the conclusion of the school day.

Staggered Release

3:35 - Portables, CTE wing, Basement Classrooms

3:38 - 3rd floor and 1st floor math wings

3:40 - 1st and 2nd floor classrooms

Students with a 4th/8th period “out” will be asked to depart campus immediately through any building exit. Students can return to campus after school if they possess a valid tutorial pass.

The school building will be completely cleared by 3:45 PM

Students who attend after school tutorials must leave the building and re enter through the main entrance and possess a tutorial pass.

Lunch

We will move to 2 lunch periods to minimize the number of students in

the cafeteria at one time.

Students must enter the cafeteria through the main double glass doors.

Students will maintain 6 feet of distance while in the cafeteria line.

Students are required to sanitize their hands before entering the

cafeteria.

Lunch – cont’d

Per board policy, 9th and 10th grade students must remain on campus during lunch.

11th and 12th grade students who leave campus for lunch must remain off campus until the end of lunch. Any student returning to campus, will report to the cafeteria.

It is imperative that any 11th and 12th graders leaving campus for lunch must wear their masks while with other students.

For contact tracing purposes, 11th and 12th graders who leave campus for lunch must know legal first and last names of their peers with whom they are in direct contact.

Students who select all virtual instruction can continue to pick up meals on Monday’s and Thursday’s between the hours of 10:00 am – 11:30 am. These students may not remain on campus, and should exit as soon as they have picked up their meals.

Walking Around the Building

Passing periods and transitions

Students will transition based on designated flow of hallways and

stairwells.

Staff will be stationed accordingly to ensure correct flow of students

and that masks are being worn.

Students walk on the right side of each hallway with classrooms.

Students will not be permitted to loiter in hallways or common areas.

They must move directly to their next class.

Students will not be allowed to congregate on the patio during

passing periods.

Communication and signage will be used to remind students of the

traffic patterns and expectations.

Restrooms

Occupancy in each restroom will be limited

according to CDC and TEA guidelines.

Signage with guidelines will be posted.

We are implementing a QR Code System that

maintains occupancy requirements in these spaces

during class periods.

Restrooms will be cleaned frequently throughout

the day by custodial staff.

Supplies and Dress Code

Students are required to have their fully-charged

Chromebook every day.

Students will keep their supplies with them at all times. No

lockers will be issued at this time.

All students will need to have a set of earbuds/earphones to

use on a daily basis.

Certain elective courses might require minimal additional

supplies.

Students will follow the FWISD High School Dress Code

Student Parking

12th Grade students wishing to park on campus will have

the opportunity to sign up and pay for a space

beginning October 6th.

11th Grade students wishing to park on campus will have

the opportunity to sign-up and pay for a space

beginning October 13th.

We will send the information regarding this process on

October 5th.

Please know that COVID - 19 is a fluid situation and

guidelines and procedures may change as the

guidelines and requirements are updated. Our campus

will be following all CDC and TEA guidelines. Those

guidelines are attached here:
