Welcome to the electronic version ofDesign and Construction of Concrete Masonry Buildings, containing the following features:

All navigation links within pages are shown in RED. Each page contains at least three navigation buttons, viz BOOK CONTENTS, CHAPTER CONTENTS and PREVIOUS PAGE.

Pages are set to Fit Page by default, but on a smaller monitor or to view in more detail, you might like to click on the Fit Width button in your Acrobat Reader.

Bookmarks are not supplied as the navigation system is sufficient, however, Pages (ie page thumbnails) are present and can be useful for smaller chapters.

There is no form of security on the pages which allows you to print at high resolution and to select and copy text and diagrams for use in other applications. However, be aware of the copyright limitations.

Sample Specification (in RTF format) and CAD Details (in DXF with some in EPS formats) are available for your use. See Part C:Chapter 3 in Book Contents and be aware of the copyright limitations.

Better performance may be had by downloading the entire CD contents into a folder on your hard disk (approximately 63 MB). Do not place the contents in different folders or locations as the navigation links will not be able to find the pages.

Free Updates are available. For details see Free Updates button below.

To start your exploration, go to the Book Contents button below.

    PROCEDURE

Download the updated pages (see instructions on the web site).

If you own only Acrobat Reader, you will have to make a list of pages that are updated and open them from your hard disk when you come to them,

If you own Acrobat 5.0 and above and you have downloaded the CD files to your hard disk, you can replace the pages with the updated ones (see below).

To replace updated pages using Acrobat 5.0 and above: Open the Chapter containing the updated pages in Acrobat 5.0 and above, from the Data folder on your hard disk.

In the menu go to Documents > Pages > Replace and follow the prompts.

After updating a Chapter, in the menu, go to File > Save As... and save the Chapter under the same name to the Data folder from which you opened it. When asked if you want to replace the file, answer YES.

WARNING: Do not use Document > Pages > Delete then Document > Pages > Insert to replace updated pages as this will remove the navigation links from the updated pages!
