Sporting Schools Now that AASC program has ceased, we are able to begin implementing the Sporting Schools program, which has replaced AASC. Sporting Schools is a part of the Australian Government’s commitment to tackling increasing levels of obesity and foster a lifelong passion for sports among children. The programme will be delivered by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC). Sporting Schools will expand the sport-based activities on offer in primary schools to inspire kids’ lifelong passion for sport. Central to achieving that outcome is the expert, enthusiastic involvement of local sport organisations, clubs and coaches as schools and sport work more closely than ever before.
Anyone can apply to become a coach in the
Sporting Schools programme and we are
looking to our parents to express an interest in
becoming a Coach for the programme. Sessions
can be run before during or after school, which
provides the option to choose the most suitable
and convenient time for the coach.
Coaches will need to meet minimum standards
of Community Coaching General Principles and/or
recognised NSO sport specific accreditation. They
will also be required to have a current state-
legislated Working with Children Check (or
equivalent) and be covered by insurance as
determined by school entry requirements. Ask for
more information if you are interested in becoming a
Sporting Schools Coach or check out the website at:

These incredible, hand-drawn works were created by some of the best industrial designers in America of the 1950s, ‘60s and early ‘70s. You can view over 20 of the vehicles from these drawings at the Shepparton Motor Museum’s concurrent exhibition, Dream Machines: The Cars.

Information for Parents For email only, we have an interesting information brochure on the development of neural pathways and how that impacts on how we learn. While it is titled ‘Learning Difficulties’, it is an easy read and valuable as an introduction to how learning takes place in all of us. Contact myself or Tymika to have it emailed to you
Parent Teacher Conversations Week 8 We would like to invite you to drop in for a chat about your child's learning. We have com-pleted the testing in English and Maths and would like to share the results with you. * For Prep students the testing gives us a starting point for teaching English and Maths. * For Grade 1 and up the tests show how much has achieved over the last year. We will also like to tell you about the teaching we have planned to help your child to do their best for the first half of the year. We are available next week during school hours (8.30am to 4.30pm) - earlier or later times can be arranged. Please phone, email or text to make a time with your child's teacher.
