Look Out Bell Shakespeare Company!

Congratulations to our teachers and students for a fabulous Literacy and Numeracy Week event last Friday at assembly. Students performed a set of five plays to a rapt audience! Especially well done to several students, who

did last minute fill-ins for absent students. Our facebook page has a few fairly dodgy video clips of the concert, sadly, some

without sound. Hopefully families that were there did some videoing as well. eSmart Week

In addition to our regular teaching of cyber-safety and digital citizenship, students have been participating in a variety of lessons designed to raise their awareness and their skills in online behaviour. Those families who attended the information session on Wednesday learned what resources are available to be proactive about their children’s online safety as well as their own.

JSC Lunchtime Disco

Yesterday the JSC held their lunchtime disco, ably overseen by Mrs Sheedy. Students tried out the latest ‘moves’ to the latest music and a great deal of excitement and enjoyment was had by all. There were quite a few disappointed faces from those who forget their money, but there will be other JSC activities to enjoy in the future. Tomorrow

Don’t forget tomorrow is a student free day. Teachers are scheduled to be planning for centenary curriculum activities and curriculum planning for term 4. Any parents who wish to come in for working bee tasks are very welcome. Teachers and myself will be here for the normal school hours. Trees

You will have noticed that the trees along our eastern boundary are being removed. Only trees which have been deemed unsafe, are being removed. A number of other trees and stumps are also being tidied or removed and made safe. A Busy Final Week of Term

Next week will be a very busy one for all of us. There are puberty talks for our grade 5 and 6 students. Permission notes have gone home for those students. Preparations for our annual school concert, which this year is the Bush Dance, will be in their final stages and we have our regular sessions of Sporting Schools and Art. Dismissal next Friday will be at 2.15pm, following a 2.00pm assembly. Don’t forget students need to be at the Community Hall by 6.45pm at the latest, ready for a 7.00pm start, next Thursday evening.

YEE –HAH …we are

having a Bush Dance!

Thursday 15th September 2016 Stanhope Hall at 7.00pm

All students need to wear bush dancing clothes… e.g. flannelette / checked shirt, jeans, cowboy hat (if own one). Families need to bring a plate of supper to share.

Families can dress up too and need to wear their dancing shoes because there will be requests for them to dance.

Parents Club will be having lucky door prizes for a gold coin donation.

On Thursday 15th Sept., students are to bring to school the SHOES or BOOTS they will be wearing at the Bush Dance to practice in. Teachers will be deciding if they will be suitable, otherwise school shoes are appropriate.
