A letter from our Pastor….. Our Christmas celebration was almost three weeks ago but let us remember and thank all who were a part
of volunteering and service during the Advent season. We have received many compliments for the beauti-
ful decorations and music during this time. It was another inspiring Christmas celebration. Our children
performed well at our family liturgy; they had good direction from several talented adults. Also, the evening
Mass that was led by our choir was spectacular as usual.
I thank all those that gave their time and talent in making it happen. Those in various liturgical roles of ser-
vice, those who cleaned and decorated the church. Each of us, in our particular way enhanced the liturgy
and made it an inspiring celebration of Christ’s birth.
There was also a reaching out to the community by our parish. Parishioners went to the Home Instead Sen-
ior Care Center to visit and bring gifts. Many people in need received meals and nourishment from the food
donations as well as the abundance of toys that were donated to children as a part of the True Spirit Coali-
tion and Giving Tree.
On behalf of the Pastoral Staff, thank you to all who sent greeting cards and gifts of various kinds. Thank
you to all of our St. Thomas families and visitors who contribute so generously to our parish at this time and
all year around.
May God’s light shine upon you, may God bless each and every one of you and may you experience a
happy and healthy New Year!
-Fr. Ed Maher

Stewardship Trust
“John answered them all, ‘I baptize you with water; but he who is mightier than I is coming…he will baptize you with
the Holy Spirit... ’” (Luke 3:16)
The Catholic Catechism states that “Jesus’ immersion in the water is a sign for all human beings of the need to die to themselves to do God’s will.” In other words, as bap-tized Catholics there is only one gift that we need to give
to Jesus – the gift of ourselves. Surrender yourself in Stewardship to God, place your trust in Him and allow the
Holy Spirit to work through you for the greater glory of God.
