We have just three short weeks to ready ourselves for the celebration of Christ's birth. We will have a number of opportunities for Con- fession in these three weeks leading up to Christmas. In addition to Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons, Confessions will be heard after Morning Masses on Wednesdays and Saturdays and on Tuesday evenings, from 7:00pm until the line runs out. Please be sure to take advantage of one of these opportu- nities to prepare your heart to receive the Lord! I mentioned that the Advent season is the shortest it can possibly be -- that means that the Fourth Sunday of Advent is also Christmas Eve. Some folks have already been asking about the schedule that day -- and how Mass attend- ance "works." In short, there is no "double dipping!" You must attend Mass for your Sunday obligation and an additional Mass for your Christmas obligation. For Sunday, we will have Masses according to our normal schedule (with the exception of the 5:00pm Mass): Saturday Vigil at 5:30pm; Sunday at 7:30, 8:45, and 10:30am; and 12:30pm. The church will be closed from the conclusion of the 12:30pm Mass until approximately 2:30pm, when the doors will reopen for the 4:00pm vigil Mass. Christmas Masses will be at 4:00, 6:00, and 8:00pm on Christmas Eve; and Midnight, 8:00 and 10:00am, and noon. If necessary, one could attend a Christmas Vigil Mass to fulfill the Sunday obligation, but it would be necessary to attend another Christmas Mass to fulfill the Christmas obliga- tion. This Friday is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be offered according to the following schedule: Thursday, December 7, Vigil Mass at 7:30pm; Friday, December 8, Masses at 6:15 and 8:30am; 12:15, 4:30, and 7:30pm. There are always yummy baked goods to sample while you are looking at these lovely trees. Please consider donating some baked goods. Contact

Mary Sinnott if you are able to donate baked goods: [email protected] Bed Ministry Join Karen and this wonderful group of volunteers who take beds, bedding & kitchen tables and chairs to fami-lies moving out of the shelter or fami-lies and children who are sleeping on the floor. Contact Karen at [email protected] or 806.341.1798 Friends in Need-Volunteers Needed Friends in Need ministry provides meals for families or individuals who need assistance due to an illness or other medical situation; arrival of a baby…and other situations. Meal schedules are set up online so you pick a date and time that work for you. You don’t have to be a gourmet chef and purchasing pizza or a rotis-serie chicken…is great too. A great way to get your kids involved too. If you are interested, contact Emily at [email protected] or 703.585.5435 HOMEBOUND or want to volunteer to visit the homebound? We have wonderful parishioners who would love to visit you! Maybe you need help with an errand or would like someone to pray with you- let our

Visitation Ministry know. We are also looking to add to our list of volunteers to make visits. Please contact Clau-dia Lewis at 703.431.8670 or email her at [email protected]. Monetary Donations Help Divine Mercy Outreach by giving a donation online or mail in the par-ish office! We are in need of monetary donations to help families in need! Go to the parish website http://www.sainttheresaparish.com and click on Donate Now-Divine Mercy to make a monetary donation! Indicate what you would like your donation to be used for online or on the memo line of your check! Interested in volunteering? Want to get involved but not sure how? Sign up to be placed on our Outreach email list. You will learn about what we do and how you can become more involved. More requests show up through emails vs the bulle-tin due to the timing so it’s a better way to get more involved. We’d love for you to join us! If interested, con-tact Marianne Guidos 703.729.2334 or [email protected]
