Beginning in late January and from now through the end of the school year, we are functioning in two years at one time. This means, we are continuing to teach and to learn, enjoying winter and spring sports, singing and ringing in Chorus and Hand/Chime Bell Choir, playing guitar, celebrating Mass together, and Oh, so much more… AND we are preparing for our next school year, 2016-2017… We anticipate the passage from grade-to-grade, year-end assess- ments, season-end sports banquets and the Spring Concert, saying farewell to our 2016 Graduates … This list might make the most stout-hearted among us, weary. Thanks to all for the St. Rose School promotions on behalf of our parents, teachers, friends, and students, we look forward to welcoming a fuller TK, a full Kindergarten, and many new students arriving from within and outside of our Roseville and St. Rose/St. Clare/Sts. In the coming months, March, April, and May, families will complete the following payments in accordance with your St. Rose School Tuition, Parent Guild, and as applicable, Extended Day Agreements: Tuition payments (10 month payment plan ending April 30; quarterly payments due April 1) Registration 2016-17 - $400.00 per child [due to hold students’ seats in the next class] Parent Guild Agreement 2015-16: Scrip Purchases ($3,000.00 - May 1, 2015 through April 30, 2016) OR $500.00 Buy-out paid Service Point positions complete or $1,500.00 Buy-out paid Extended Day Careinvoices must be current through June 6, 2016 (last day of Extension) Chromebook Repair invoices Damaged book fees, library fines Past due fees or invoices St. Rose school will implement the policy as follows : Parents will be informed in advance of Tuesday, April 19, 2016 (Parent Guild Registration Day), of all outstanding financial obligations, Extended Day Care payments accepted. (Extension fees will be calculated at 6:00 pm, Tuesday June 6, 2016). Any outstanding payments and fees will be listed for each fam- ily. Beginning this year, parents will come into the school office on Wednesday morning, June 7, 2016, between 7:30 - 10:30am. At that time, outstanding payments and fees should be paid in full and parents will receive the report cards of their children. In the case of 8th grade students, all payments and fees will be paid on or before Monday, May 23, 2016. Students receive their report card following graduation on Thursday, May 26. Read about our new policy for addressing year-end financials—outstanding balances for tuition, Extension, fees, scrip, or service point positions; read also about the new processes for Registration 2016-17. In 2015, St. Rose School moved to our newest tuition management provider, TADS. This coming school year, 2016-17, we will increase the offerings of TADS to our families. The following elements will be fully addressed by TADS:

Parents will no longer make tuition payments through PAL’s Bookkeeping or FACTS.

Registration packets will be going home to each family on March 15th 2016. Please read the Registration instructions from St. Rose School and TADS carefully so that you understand the options provided by the tuition management plan, in particular, your ACH due date options or associated fees (i.e. late payments, insufficient funds…). We are excited to provide this complete offering so as to better serve the families of our school.

Year-end Financials

It has been recommended by our Catholic School Department that all schools institute a new policy regarding the setting of financial obligations by families at year’s end. Principal’s News Bulletins: Friday, February 26 - marks the end of the 2nd trimester. Reports cards will be distributed Thursday, March 3rd to the students. Honor Roll Assembly for grades 4 - 8 will be held on March 4th following the 9:00 AM Mass. All are welcome to attend. Honor Roll qualifications are listed in the 2015-16 Parent/Student Handbook.

Tuesday, March 1 - PAL Winter Sports/Award Banquet will be held to honor all 5th - 8th grade students and coaches who partici-pated on basketball teams this season. Many thanks to Amy Freitas and everyone on the sports committee, who will be preparing the dinner. *Reminder, parents are asked to bring a dessert to share following the dinner and players must return their PAL basketball uniforms to their coaches.

Wednesday, March 2 - FREE DRESS for ALL students! Thank you for participating in the Jump Rope for Heart program.

Wednesday, March 2 - Sacramento Life Center baby bot-tles are due. Our Lenten journey continues… Baby Bottles went home on February 10th. Our students have been col-lecting donations for the Sacramento Life Center since Ash Wednes-day.

Thursday, March 3 - Welcome “A Touch of Understanding”. This year, grades 5-6-7 will participate in this outsyanding, morning - long workshop that will give our students a depper experience of compas-sion, patience, tolerance, and the imperative for inclusion. In spring of 2017 this workshop will provide for grades 3-4-5. The funds from Jog-a-thon allow us to pay for this valuable opportunity.

Friday, March 4 - First Friday Mass with Bishop Cotta - TK - 8th grade students and staff will attend 9:00 AM Mass, prepared by the 1st grade class; all are welcome to join us. Students must wear their full school uniform - (girls in skirts and boys in pants). Following the 9:00 AM Mass, Honor Roll for grades 4 - 8 will be held in the church. All are welcome.

Friday, March 4 - Minimum Day due to a faculty meeting. Dismissal is at noon for grades K - 8 and 11:30 AM for TK. Ex-tended Day Care is open for TK– 8 (please plan for lunch). Stu-dents must bring a lunch OR pre-order cheese pizza. Please sign up on the clip board in Extension and prepay the lunch fee $3.50 per child (cash only please). This includes a slice of cheese pizza, a drink and fruit choice. Preorder and payment is required.

Saturday, March 5 - Junior High Academic Decathlon at Christian Brothers High School. A total of 25 schools will compete in the day-long event. Many thanks to our leaders: Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Fortier. We are proud of our decathletes: Enya C. (Religion), Hannah G. (Math), Lorenzo E. (Science), Paige H. (English), Eric J. (Social Studies), Christian S. (Literature), Zach W. (Fine Arts), Anthony P. (Current Events), Isa Chew (Logic/Super Quiz & Individual Writing), and Michael G. (Logic/Super Quiz) and team alternates, Julia W., Andre M., Hannah L., Ashley E., Marisa P. Justin F. and Victoria P. who have spent countless hours preparing to participate in this event. Thank you to Mrs. Johannessen, Mrs. Grehm and Mrs. Witte for volunteering to be our team proctors. Go team!!! Families are welcome to attend and cheer on our team!

Saturday, March 5 is the next Saturday Workday from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. Many thanks to John Valasek who will organ-ize the workday and spend many hours helping our school. Special thanks to the entire team: Nicole Macreadie, Anthony Macreadie, Gabe Villaflor, David Salas, Michael Smudde, Marisabel Azucena, Bencel Hernandez, Henry Hernandez, Tyron Ocon and Richelle Ocon who are willing to give of their time to clean our cam-pus (especially during this time of the year when prospective parents are looking at our school). It does get noticed!!!

Monday, March 7 - Our Lenten journey continues - the students will be given Catholic Relief Services Lenten Boxes - Rice Bowls to fill with spare change that comes from part of the stu-dents’ almsgiving Lenten journey. Thank you for your support and generosity. CRS Lenten Boxes are due on Thursday, March 24.

Tuesday, March 8 - Sacrament of Confirmation with Bishop Cotta in the St. Rose Parish church at 6:00 PM. Please pray for our 8th grade students as they are filled with the Holy Spirt.

Thursday, March 10 - Parent Guild Big Spoon FUNraiser from 2-9 PM at the Fountains Shopping Center. Fliers, printed emails, or ver-bally telling the cashier that they are part of the fundraiser will qualify

for the credit. Spread the word!

Monday, March 14 - There is No School or Extended Day Care for this Catholic Schools Department Professional De-velopment Day.

Thursday, March 17 - Tuesday, 3/17: Free Dress Day wearing your favorite green clothing, following the Parent/Student Handbook guidelines to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Friday, March 18 - Diocese of Sacramento Choral Festival - Cho-rus students in grades 2 - 8 will be attending the choral festival from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Christian Brothers High School. [Note: This time is after minimum day school has dismissed].
