Know Him More Clearly

Join Men’s Ministry

Are you looking for a community of men to share your Catholic faith with?

Men’s Ministry meets on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month in the PLC from

6:30-7:30 p.m. During this time, parishioner Mike Matthews facilitates an analytical and

intellectual study of the Sunday Mass readings.

If you are interested in joining this group of men striving for holiness, please contact

Jim at 314-994-0577.

FROM THE DESK OF FATHER KAVANAGH

It’s funny how so many of us are very willing to help any of our brothers and sisters in need, while at the same time we can struggle to ask others for help. Unfortunately, we can think sometimes that asking someone for help means that we are showing some kind of weakness. Logically then, if we struggle to seek help from those around us, that mentality will also work its way into our spiritual life. Do we find it difficult to ask God for help? Are we open to His will in these situations rather than our own requests of Him? "What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish?” Ugh, as someone who isn’t a fan of snakes this is a terrifying thought! Jesus explains that God our Father is always willing to help us, all we need to do is ask. We should never be afraid that God will not be willing to respond to our prayers to Him. As we go about our week, let us seek help and guidance from God, and let us ask him to help us to grow in trusting Him. Have a great week! St Richard, pray for us!

Adoration - Community - Theology – Service

ACTS Retreats are parish-based events which offer parishioners an opportunity to experience the love of

Jesus Christ. This in turn fosters a desire for intentional discipleship.

ACTS Retreats are given by parishioners FOR

parishioners, and in this way, serve to build Christian community at a parish. But really, you don’t have to be a

parishioner, and you don’t have to be Catholic … You just need an open heart to learn more about Jesus.

You are invited to join the Woman’s ACTS Retreat

September 5-September 8th, 2019

First Friday Eucharistic Adoration Friday & Saturday, August 2nd & 3rd

“In a world where there is so much noise, so much bewilderment, there is a need for silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the Host. Be assiduous in the prayer of adoration and teach it to the faithful. It is a source of comfort and light, particularly to those who are suffering.” ~Pope Benedict XVI Enter the quiet of the beautiful Heart of Jesus, who dwells in our very hearts, in silence, in love. Experience the unity with Him that He so deeply desires as you rest in His holy presence during First Friday Eucharistic Adoration this Friday, August 2nd, following the 8:15 a.m. Mass and continuing until Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. with Benediction. After 12:00 noon on Friday, please enter the church through the glass doors on the right side of the church vestibule (facing the covered walk to the Parish Life Center). Spiritual reading is available.

SCHOOL SUPPLY DONATIONS NEEEDED

It’s hard to believe, but school will be back in

session before we know it! Pretty soon we will see all the class supply lists popping up in our local

supermarkets. The beginning of the school year can be a very expensive time for families!

Please consider helping these families by donating

school supplies. Please place donations in the box in the back of church. Our volunteers will

deliver the supplies to the Wellston Center. Thank you!
