BAPTISM Registered parishioners please contact the parish office to schedule a Baptism and necessary preparations. For your first child, a Baptism Preparation Class must be completed. Baptisms are typically held after 11am Mass on Sunday.

MARRIAGE Couples planning marriage should contact the parish office at least six months in advance for proper procedures.

INTERESTED IN BEING A CATHOLIC? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA program, prepares all who wish to join the Catholic Church. Please contact the parish office.

FROM THE DESK OF FATHER KAVANAGH

It’s funny how so many of us are very willing to help any of our brothers and sisters in need, while at the same time we can struggle to ask others for help. Unfortunately, we can think sometimes that asking someone for help means that we are showing some kind of weakness. Logically then, if we struggle to seek help from those around us, that mentality will also work its way into our spiritual life. Do we find it difficult to ask God for help? Are we open to His will in these situations rather than our own requests of Him? "What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish?” Ugh, as someone who isn’t a fan of snakes this is a terrifying thought! Jesus explains that God our Father is always willing to help us, all we need to do is ask. We should never be afraid that God will not be willing to respond to our prayers to Him. As we go about our week, let us seek help and guidance from God, and let us ask him to help us to grow in trusting Him. Have a great week! St Richard, pray for us!

supermarkets. The beginning of the school year can be a very expensive time for families!
