THE GATHERING
Stand Love Divine, all loves excellingCharles Wesley (1707-88)
NEH 408
Love Divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of heaven, to earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown.
Jesu, thou art all compassion,
Pure unbounded love thou art;Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter every trembling heart.
Come, almighty to deliver,
Let us all thy life receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,Serve thee as thy hosts above,
Pray, and praise thee, without ceasing,
Glory in thy perfect love.
Finish then thy new creation,
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation,
Perfectly restored in thee,
Changed from glory into glory,
Till in heaven we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

Prayers of Penitence
Sit or kneel In baptism we died with Christ,so that as Christ was raised from the dead,
we might walk in newness of life.Let us receive new life in him
as we confess our sins in penitence and faith.
Like Mary at the empty tomb,
we fail to grasp the wonder of your presence.
Lord, have mercy.
All Lord, have mercy
Like the disciples behind locked doors,
we are afraid to be seen as your followers.
Christ, have mercy
All Christ, have mercy
Like Thomas in the upper room,
we are slow to believe.Lord, have mercy
All Lord, have mercy
The presiding Priest says:
Almighty God,
who forgives all who truly repent,have mercy upon you,
pardon and deliver you from all your sins,
confirm and strengthen you in all goodness,
and keep you in life eternal;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.All Amen.

your wounds declare your love for the world

THE LITURGY OF THE WORD
Sit ReadingActs 11.1-18
Now the apostles and the believers who were in Judea
heard that the Gentiles had also accepted the word of
God. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the
circumcised believers criticized him, saying, Why did
you go to uncircumcised men and eat with them? Then
Peter began to explain it to them, step by step, saying, I
was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a
vision. There was something like a large sheet coming
down from heaven, being lowered by its four corners;
and it came close to me. As I looked at it closely I saw
four-footed animals, beasts of prey, reptiles, and birds
of the air. I also heard a voice saying to me, Get up,
Peter; kill and eat. But I replied, By no means, Lord;

for nothing profane or unclean has ever entered my
mouth. But a second time the voice answered from
heaven, What God has made clean, you must not callprofane. This happened three times; then everything
was pulled up again to heaven. At that very momentthree men, sent to me from Caesarea, arrived at the
house where we were. The Spirit told me to go with
them and not to make a distinction between them and
us. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we
entered the mans house. He told us how he had seen
the angel standing in his house and saying, Send to
Joppa and bring Simon, who is called Peter; he will give
you a message by which you and your entire household
will be saved. And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit
fell upon them just as it had upon us at the beginning.
And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he had
said, John baptized with water, but you will be
baptized with the Holy Spirit. If then God gave them
the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the
Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could hinder God?When they heard this, they were silenced. And they
praised God, saying, Then God has given even to the
Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.This is the word of the Lord.
All Thanks be to God.

All Walking in a gardenAt the close of day,
Adam tried to hide him
When he heard God say:
Why are you so frightened,
Why are you afraid?
You have brought the winter in,
Made the flowers fade.
Walking in a garden
Where the Lord had gone,
Three of the disciples,
Peter, James, and John;
They were very weary,
Could not keep awake,
While the Lord was kneeling there,Praying for their sake.
Walking in a garden,
At the break of day,
Mary asked the gardener
Where the body lay;
But he turned towards her,
Smiled at her and said:Mary, spring is here to stay,
Only death is dead.

The Gospel
John 13.31-35
Hear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according
to John.All Glory to you, O Lord.
When he had gone out, Jesus said, Now the Son of
Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in
him. If God has been glorified in him, God will also
glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once. Little
children, I am with you only a little longer. You willlook for me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to
you, Where I am going, you cannot come. I give you
a new commandment, that you love one another. Just
as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if
you have love for one another.
This is the Gospel of the LordAll Praise to you, O Christ.

Stand The Creed
Let us declare our faith in God, Father, Son and
Holy Spirit.
All We believe in one God,the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is,
seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christthe only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came downfrom heaven,
was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the
Virgin Maryand was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under
Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living
and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We acknowledge one baptism for the
forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.

All At the Lambs high feast we singPraise to our victorious King:
Who hath washed us in the tide
Flowing from his pierced side;
Praise we him whose love divine
Gives the guests his blood for wine,
Gives his body for the feast,
Love the Victim, Love the Priest.
Mighty Victim from on high,
Powers of hell beneath thee lie;Death is broken in the fight,
Thou hast brought us life and light.
Now thy banner thou dost wave,
Conquering Satan and the grave.
See the prince of darkness quelled;
Heavens bright gates are open held.
Paschal triumph, Paschal joy,Only sin can this destroy;
From sins death do thou set free,
Souls re-born, dear Lord in thee.
Hymns of glory, songs of praise,
Father unto thee we raise.Risen Lord, all praise to thee,
Ever with the Spirit be.

All It is right to give thanks and praise.
It is indeed right, our duty and our joy,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
almighty and eternal Father,
and in these days of Easter
to celebrate with joyful heartsthe memory of your wonderful works.
For by the mystery of his passion
Jesus Christ, your risen Son,
has conquered the powers of death and hell
and restored in men and women the image of
your glory.

He has placed them once more in paradise
and opened to them the gate of life eternal.
And so, in the joy of this Passover,earth and heaven resound with gladness,
while angels and archangels and the powers ofall creation
sing for ever the hymn of your glory:
All Holy, holy, holy Lord,God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of
the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
Accept our praises, heavenly Father,
through your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ,
and as we follow his example and obey his command,
grant that by the power of your Holy Spiritthese gifts of bread and wine
may be to us his body and his blood;
who, in the same night that he was betrayed,
took bread and gave you thanks:
he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take, eat, this is my body which is given for you:do this in remembrance of me.

In the same way, after supper
he took the cup and gave you thanks:
he gave it to them, saying:Drink this, all of you;
this is my blood of the new covenant,which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness
of sins.
Do this, as often as you drink it,
in remembrance of me.
Therefore, heavenly Father,
we remember his offering of himself
made once for all upon the cross;
we proclaim his mighty resurrection and
glorious ascension;
we look for the coming of your kingdom,
and with this bread and this cup
we make the memorial of Christ your Son our Lord.
Great is the mystery of faith:All Christ has died
Christ is risen
Christ will come again.
Accept through him, our great high priest,
this our sacrifice of thanks and praise,
and as we eat and drink these holy gifts
in the presence of your divine majesty,renew us by your Spirit, inspire us with your love
and unite us in the body of your Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
