. THANKSGIVING PRAYER Father in heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks. Thank you for all the graces and blessings You have bestowed upon us, spiritual and temporal; our faith and religious heritage, our food and shelter, our health, the love we have for one another, our fami-
ly and friends. Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us con-tinued graces and blessings throughout the coming year. We ask this in the
name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother. Amen. Traditional Catholic Prayers
Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Church at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
What better way to give thanks to God than to attend
Mass together as a family.
COME LORD JESUS, COME Sunday, November 27th, is the First Sunday of Advent. Ad-
vent comes from the Latin word “coming”. We are waiting
the coming of the Christ Child on Christmas day. In the
Brown Envelope this week, you will find the Advent Daily
Reflection booklet. Set aside time as a family to read and re-
flect on the daily reflections and practices that are suggested in
this booklet.
The most common symbol of Advent is the Advent wreath, which holds four candles
symbolizing hope, peace, joy and love. No doubt you will soon be decorating your
homes for Christmas. As a family, take time next week to decorate your home for Ad-
vent by making an advent wreath. Set the wreath in a place of prominence in your home
where the family can gather to pray and prepare their heart for the real meaning of
Christmas, the birth of Jesus. In addition to an Advent wreath, Advent themed crafts are
often centered around the creation of items that help count down the days or weeks until
Christmas. For children's Advent crafts and activities go to http://www.pinterest.com.
or http://www.stnicholascenter.com. Let us work together to bring the real meaning
of Christmas into our homes…..let us keep Christ in Christmas.

NEW TO ST. PAUL’S This year, St. Paul Catholic School has chartered it's first Junior Thespian Society
Troupe. The International Thespian Society is an honor society dedicated to awarding stu-
dents for their efforts and accomplishments in the theater. For induction into the Junior pro-
gram, a student must have participated in 50+ hours of events in theater during their middle
school years. We are proud to announce we have the following 14 inaugural members who
were recently inducted into St. Paul's Junior Thespian Troupe #89390. The members
are: Betsy Johnson, Nolan Apostolu, Jacob Gaddis, Nicole Robison, Autumn Miller, Athena
Chlapowski, Lucy Rau, Katie Sanders, Nellie Rettig, Maggie McKay, Rebecca Buete, Kirstin
Rumpf, Eve DeHaven, and Sofie Dericks. On Saturday this group participated in the Districts
competition. We are thrilled to announce that out of 5 events at Districts, our students re-
ceived superior ratings in 3 of them. Therefore, they will go on to the State Festival in Febru-
ary! These ratings were given for the 8th grade girls' number "Omigosh" and Becca Buete's
monologue. Becca Buete also sang a solo song that not only got a Superior rating, but was
awarded the VERY distinguished Critic's Choice award for the Solo Musical category, which
is essentially Best in Show! Becca had the chance to perform her solo in front of all of the
District competitors during the closing ceremonies! Congratulations, Mr. Wassmer and stu-
dents!
PRAYERS We continue to pray for all our sick relatives, friends, and benefactors
especially former teacher Mrs. Sheridan; Tom Masterson, grandfather of
the Masterson and DeHaven children; Sandy Galloway, step grandmother
of Karoline Galloway; Carlos Escobar, father of Dominic and Vincent,
and Tiffani Moore, aunt of Aiden and Gavin Sparks. We also pray for all our families as well
as our deceased relatives, friends and benefactors. As always, we remember in prayer the de-
ceased members of the Kremer and Forbes families whose tuition scholarships benefit several
of our families. May all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
LORD, MAKE US INSTRUMENTS OF YOUR PEACE!
