Today we hear about the poor widow who gave two small coins worth a few cents into the treasury. Jesus calls his disciples, meaning us, and tells us that the widow put more into the treas-ury than all the other contributors, even though she gave so lit-tle. Jesus then explains it is because she gave from her poverty while the others gave from their surplus.
In hearing this teaching I am reminded of my new parish family here at St. Patrick. I think of all the people in our parish who give their time to God. If we think about it, most of us in this busy world do not have surplus time. There always seems to be more things to do than there is time to do them. Many of us are dealing with working long hours, taking care of our family, along with maintaining our homes. We can find ourselves becoming sleep deprived and sometimes feeling overwhelmed. We seem to be in a poverty of time.
Yet all of us somehow need to give some time for God. Many parishioners find the time to volunteer by helping the hungry, both the physically and spiritually hungry. Some give time to fight for the right of human dignity, from conception to natural death. Others in maintaining our parish by helping with duties in administration or maintenance. There are many other ways in which people volunteer in our parish.
Since not everyone can volunteer at the parish, all of us can still give some time to God through prayer and the way we live our life. If we use some of the time God has given us each day to reflect on his love for us, we will recognize more readily his love in our everyday life and we will experience the joy of being loved perfectly. As we experience this time being filled with joy each day, we will then bring this joy into the world to share with oth-ers and will then become volunteers for God by glorifying him by our life.
I would like to thank all of you for helping my wife Nancy and me feel so welcomed to our new parish family. We are thrilled to be part of this wonderful parish and we look forward to getting to know everyone and building friendships in time. We are truly experiencing God's love being shared throughout the parish. Thanks again to all of you!
God Bless,
Deacon Lou
Mass of Remembrance
Join us as we remember all those members of our
parish family who have gone before us in faith.
“Eternal Rest Grant unto them,
O Lord; may perpetual light
shine upon them.”
Sunday, November 15th
at the 12:00 noon Mass
Thank you !!!
We have reached and far surpassed providing 20,000
meals to St. John’s Hospice since 2007. Last weekend
the response was overwhelm-
ing; there were casseroles
stored in the freezer upstairs,
the rectory, the parish and
religious education offices,
and the school cafeteria.
We had no more room!!!
What a great problem to have.
Thank you for your generous response to the needs
of those less fortunate.

Pope Francis has declared an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy.
This Jubilee of Mercy is a time in which we can be transformed by the merciful gaze of God upon us; and a time in which we can respond by sharing that compassion and love with others. On Sunday, December 13th we will open the Jubilee Year of Mercy at the 10:30 Mass.
Prayer for Jubilee Year of Mercy
Lord Jesus Christ, you are the Father’s mercy for us. In mercy, you freed Zaccheus and Matthew from greed. In mercy, you freed Peter from dishonesty and cowardice. In mercy, you promised heaven to the good thief. In mercy, you gave weakness to your ministers so we can come to you easily in them.
Draw us close to you, Jesus, and shine your mercy on our sins. Like the woman who washed your feet with her own tears, make us love more than ever because you forgive us. Amen.
Thanksgiving Liturgy
Thursday, November 26th at 9:00AM

John Angotti and St. Patrick Parish Choirs Present an Advent/Christmas Concert Saturday, December 12th at 7:30PM
in the Church
John's message is clear: There is hope,
healing, and truth with the love of God. His
music expresses hope and love for those
longing for a deeper relationship with God. "My passion is to not only provide music for
worship, but music that sings of the true
witness of my experience of Christ in my life, that leads me
to the table in faith. I have found that people relate through
both music and testimony. All of us have a cross, even though we may try to hide it. But there is no hiding place
from God, who is with us all the time."
John’s music delivers a dynamic blend of contemporary
styles and meaningful lyrics, leading him to be granted
awards for "Male Vocalist of the Year," "Pop/Contemporary
Album of the Year" and "Praise and Worship Album of the Year," in addition to much critical acclaim. His writing style
includes contemporary rock, pop, and Latin rhythms, and
his compositions give new life to traditional pieces from
chant and classical genres.
Tickets will be available Thanksgiving weekend after all of the Masses. $10 per ticket.
