RELIGION Welcome back to 2016 I hope that you have had a good holiday with family and friends and I look forward to another great year at St Joseph’s. To all those children who sang at either the Christmas carols in the Park or those who came to Christmas Eve Mass, THANK YOU so much for your participation. To all the children who were altar servers over the Christmas break and throughout the year, thank you for your help also. At present I am currently working on a timetable for Masses this year and hope to have this on the newsletter in the coming weeks.

Student Absences Schools in partnerships with parents, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students.

When students are away from school for any reason it is a parent/caregivers responsibility to explain the absences of their children within 7 days from the first day of any period of absence. If you are aware that your child will be away from school prior to the absence, advance notification is preferred.

From the beginning of 2015, family holidays are no longer considered under the Exemption from School Procedures. If the expected absence period is 10 days or longer you are required to complete an Application for Extended Leave - Travel form (A1). This form can be downloaded from our website or collected from the office. Once completed this form should be returned to the Principal. Once the Application has been accepted by the Principal, you will be issued with a Certificate for Extended Leave.

Applications for Exemption from Attendance at school (A2) forms must be completed in advance and now cover absences due to exceptional circumstances, employment in the entertainment industry and participation in elite arts/sporting events.

* * Medications at School * * If your child requires medication at school it must be kept in the office and administered by staff. This includes any type of medications such as paracetamol, hayfever medication, cough lollies and antibiotics. Asthma Medication & Epipens should be kept in school bags or with your child, however they must still be supervised by staff when being used. Please call into the office or download the ‘Consent to Dispense Medication’ form from our website. The consent form should accompany the medication when your child drops it into the office before school starts in the morning.

Did you know you can receive your Fees, Receipts and Statements via

email? Please contact the office if you would like to receive this
