One name will be drawn from among those parishioners who currently give online (either via bank draft or monthly recurring credit card through our website). A second name will be drawn from among those who sign up for monthly recurring donations during the month of June.
Why give online? For parishioners, it’s safe, easy, and convenient. For the parish, it’s reliable, steady, and consistent.
Please consider giving at least a portion of your monthly tithe online. Sign up at www.stjoerayne.org/giving
Pat Bordes II says about giving online: “I like knowing that no matter where I go to Mass on the weekend my parish will still
receive my support.”

Man-to-Man Conference
Join us Wednesday, July 10th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Family Life Center for our final session of the “Feeding our Faith” formation series. The theme of the series is “Why We Believe” and our topic this week explains the Catholic response to the question of “Do Catholics Worship Mary?”. The evening will begin with a free supper followed by a video presentation and discussion. If you never really understood WHY the Catholic Church teaches what She teaches, then this bible study is for you. In this series you’ll discover just how reasonable, biblical and beautiful the Catholic faith really is.
Feeding Our FaithNatural Family Planning Awareness Week
“Love that does not include sacrifice is incomplete. Sacrifice joyously embraced for the sake of the loved one is at the heart of the mystery of love.”
-John Billings, “The Gift of Life and Love”
Natural Family Planning Week will be observed the week of July 21st – 27th. To celebrate the beauty of NFP, St. Joseph’s Parish will hold an NFP workshop on Wednesday, July 24th at 6:00pm in the Family Life Center. Engaged couples along with married couples who have not yet made the commitment to live out their marital relationships in harmony with Church teaching are encouraged to attend.
We are blessed in Rayne to have 3 certified NFP instructors – Liz Alleman, Jonathan and Taylor Hebert and Casey and Erin Breaux. During this workshop you will have an opportunity to meet them and share any concerns and ask any questions you may have. Please join us for an honest and open discussion.
Consider this testimonial:
“When my husband and I took an NFP class, I have to admit that I was scared. Giving up control was frightening! It was one thing to be committed to an ideal, but something quite different to follow through on it. It definitely involved a leap of faith! Over time and with some experience, I began to appreciate the gift and beauty of NFP.
In practicing NFP, my husband and I must decide if we, as a couple, are ready to embrace the possibility of a new life in each menstrual cycle. When we had used contraception, we ignored this reality. With NFP we could not ignore how God made us – as a man and a woman. NFP helped us understand the relationship that God designed between the marital act and procreation. It has made us open to life.”
-Dawn Farias, “How Natural Family Planning Changed My Life”
