* Call to Worship (Congregational responses are in bold print.) You shall proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you. You did what is right in my eyes by proclaiming liberty, each to one’s neighbor, and you made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name. God is spirit, and where the spirit of God is, there is freedom. For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

* Hymn America the Beautiful No. 727

* Call to Confession

* Prayer of Confession For all the ways we colonize each other with expectations, beliefs, judgments, and

our own fear… God, in your mercy, forgive and transform. For all the ways we squander right relationship, grabbing to “have” more while some

go without…

God, in your mercy, forgive and transform. For all the ways we abuse our freedom, engaging hateful speech towards those not

on “our” side… God, in your mercy, forgive and transform. For all the ways we deny equality, deeming some “in” and others “out…” God, in your mercy, forgive and transform. Amen.

* Assurance of Forgiveness Praise the Lord! The Lord be Praised!

* Song Response Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be; world without end. Amen. Amen.

What’s Happening at St. John?

Celebrate the 4th of July with St. John We will be participating in the St. Charles 4th of July parade again this year. This year we will be spotlighting the 150th Anniversary of St. John, so we would like a large presence of walkers. The parade will begin at Bales Park at 10:00 a.m. and will end at Main St. and Boonslick Road. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the

parade begins. We will be driving the church bus for those who would like to ride. Please arrange for transportation at the end of the parade route since there is

limited seating available on the bus. We are also asking for candy donations to distribute at the parade. Please drop your candy donations at the church office

or at the Welcome Center – no chocolate please.

Performing Arts Camp Ads for Sale We will be selling spots in our Damn Yankees program for “break a leg” ads again

this year. The ads may be purchased by cast families or local businesses. The sizing and costs are: Business Card size $10, ¼ page $20, ½ page $30, full page $40. All proceeds from ads purchased will support the Performing Arts Camp.

Contact Sue in the church office for more information, [email protected], 636.946.0961. The deadline for submitting ads is July 5.

Damn Yankees Tickets on Sale Tickets for this year’s Performing Arts Camp “Damn Yankees” will go on sale

beginning June 17 in New Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings. Tickets can also be purchased during the week in the office. Tickets can not be held and must be paid for at time of purchase. Performances are Friday, July 13, 7pm, Saturday,

July 8 at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. She will be playing a variety of pieces to prepare for her college studies this fall. Please come and enjoy her hard work!

VBS Thank You! I would like to express my heartfelt thank you to all of the volunteers,

people who donated supplies, money and gift cards, and to those people who supported us in prayer. Nearly 50 children were served by 30 dedicated

volunteers. It was an awesome week made possible by the many blessings provided by our generous members. Thank you all for your support.

Habitat Build Day If any of you were "on the fence" about volunteering for the Habitat build day on July 7 because you didn't know who was providing lunch for the group, we have been advised that JJ's of O'Fallon will be our lunch provider that day! There is

still room to sign up! Call Chris Hoffman at 636.946.7291
