My Dear Parishioners,

We might say that we are in the season of great feast days. Just last Sunday we cele-

brated Pentecost. Next week we will cele-brate “Corpus Christi,” the feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord. And today we cele-brate “Trinity Sunday,” the great feast of the Eternal Godhead: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity has been described as the central mystery of our Christian faith and of Christian life.

Traditionally, we have looked to the Athana-sian Creed as the expression of our belief in the Holy Trinity. This creed was named in honor of Athanasius (A.D. 293-373), the champion of the Christian Church against attacks on the doctrine of the Trinity.

In part it states: “Now this is the Catholic faith: That we worship one God in trinity and the trinity in unity, neither blending their per-sons nor dividing their essence. For the per-son of the Father is a distinct person, the per-son of the Son is another, and that of the Holy Spirit still another…

The Father is eternal, the Son is eternal, the Holy Spirit is eternal. And yet there are not three eternal beings; there is but one eternal being. So too there are not three uncreated or immeasurable beings; there is but one uncre-ated and immeasurable being…”

On this Sunday we reflect upon our faith in God as revealed to us in the Trinity of Per-sons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spir-it. We praise and glorify Him for his power and majesty. We give him thanks for reveal-ing himself to us through the mystery of our salvation!

Sincerely yours, Monsignor Radocha

Procedures for Daily Mass:

We will resume celebrating daily Mass with a congregation beginning Monday, June 1. All daily Masses will be celebrated in the main church so that we can maintain the possibility of proper social distancing. 1.) Please wear a mask. The Church is a public place. 2.) There will be some hand sanitizer available in the rear of the church. We strongly recom-mend, however, that you bring your own hand sanitizer so as to avoid contagion from the pump bottles. 3.) To maintain social distancing, every 2nd and 3rd pews have been roped off. While families and married couples may sit together, please do not sit closer than 6 feet to the person next to you. 4.) Please try to sit in the center section if pos-sible. 5.) Holy Communion will be distributed after Mass. When the priest calls you forward, please maintain proper distancing in the center aisle. 6.) Please do not remove your mask until ready to receive Holy Communion. We strongly en-courage that you receive Communion in the hand as a sanitary measure. Communion on the tongue is permitted. 7.) The priest will have a bottle of hand sanitiz-er next to him. He may sanitize his hands be-tween communicants if he feels it is necessary. 8.) After receiving Communion, you may re-turn to the church to make your thanksgiving af-ter Communion, or you may do this privately in your car before leaving. 9.) Please be conscious that after each Mass or any other gathering, the church needs to be sani-tized. We ask that you be considerate to the per-son doing this work by exiting the church soon after Mass. Kindly do not leave anything in the pews or gathering area. Please do not congregate with anyone on church grounds after Mass. This would violate CDC guidelines. Thank you for your consideration. Please be safe! Please be respectful!

Academic Excellence in Spanish Classes! Expanding Horizons with Spanish: Teaching Spanish to students from Pre-K through 8th grade is no easy task, but the student engagement at St. Jane School is outstanding. Our goal is to introduce students to a second language in a fun, engaging manner that allows them to learn through song, games and traditional teaching methods. We live in a global, multilingual world, and exposing the students to a new language and highlighting cultural differences will ultimately help young people navigate the cultural diversity present in the communities where they live today and in the future.

Our pre-kindergarteners, kindergarteners and first graders are learning Spanish through song, while the second and third graders are working to spell their colors, numbers, and days of the week. The fourth and fifth graders are learn-ing the concepts of yesterday, today and tomorrow, and are expanding their vocabulary by playing Spanish Vocab Bingo in class. Our sixth, seventh and eighth graders have been introduced to the book series Bizcocho, also known as Biscuit, as they are challenged to read aloud in class to build confidence in speaking a second language.

At St. Jane School, we know that Spanish is more than learning a foreign language and embracing cultural diversity. We recognize that prayer and song are an integral part of the Catholic faith. Therefore, all students at St. Jane’s are learning the Hail Mary and the Our Father in Spanish as well as the chorus to songs like Lord, You Have Come/Pescador de Hombres, that are sung on occasion at Mass during the week.
