Eucharistic Adoration ~

Monday’s 9:00 AM—7:00 PM O boundless charity! Even as You, true God

and true Man, gave Yourself entirely to us, so

also You left Yourself entirely for us, to be our

food, so that during our earthly pilgrimage we

would not faint with weariness, but would be strengthened

by You, our heavenly Bread. O mercenary people! And

what has your God left you? He has left you Himself, wholly

God and wholly Man, concealed under the whiteness of this

bread.

A Family Perspective ~ May 10, 2015

Today’s Gospel challenges us to “love

one another as I have loved you.” Jesus

is our model and he asks us to “lay down our

life” (our time, attention, opinions and needs) for each

other. This is the sacrament of the family: when God

is made visible in our sacrificial love for one another.

The most important person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral—a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby’s body. “The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. They cannot share in God’s creative miracle to bring new saints to heaven. Only a human mother can. Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creatures. God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of crea-tion…”What on God’s good earth is more glorious than this: to be a mother?” -- Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty

MISSION OF THE CHURCH -

Of her very nature, the Church is missionary. This means her members are called by God to bring the Gospel by word and deed to all peoples and to every situation of work, education, culture, and commu-nal life in which human beings find each other. The members of the Church seek to transform society not by power but by persuasion and by example.
