ST. ISIDORE R. C. CHURCH
Our Mission Statement Lord, God, all creation is yours, and you call us to serve you by caring for the gifts
that surround us. May the example of St. Isidore urge us to share our food with the hungry and to work for the salvation of mankind. We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your son, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen. Saint Isidore, Pray for Us.

TRUST
“In God We Trust” marks the currency of our nation. It should mark our lives as well. In fact, however, we hesi-tate to trust others, including God, absolutely. We prefer to hold our trust in reserve, fearful of being hurt or be-trayed. Today’s readings remind us that Lent is a season of trust—a trust that transforms.
God makes a remarkable promise to Abraham. To receive this promise, all Abraham need do is trust. Paul tells the Philippians that they too must trust that they are the bene-ficiaries of God’s bountiful grace; that they are not citi-zens of any earthly kingdom, but citizens of heaven. These two readings invite us to hear the Gospel account of deep trust—trust that God will fulfill all promises and that Jesus’ passage will lead to transformation and new life. Copyright © J. S. RESPECT LIFE CORNER
Recent advances by US scientists allow us to reconstruct the entire genetic code of an unborn baby to see what spontaneous genetic mutations have arisen. We are now facing the possibility that we will soon be able to scan the who genome of the fetus. This information gives rise to many ethical questions: Can it be right to abort a fetus at risk of a disease that will only strike in middle age? How will such information affect the parent/child relationship? Will this data be made public? Will the child/adult be insurable? Will only the perfect unborn child be good enough for survival? How will this effect the rates of abortion? And is this pursuit of knowledge in man’s best interest?

LIGHTHOUS CATHOLIC MEDIA
We are living in a moment in history unlike any other where our society is being overtaken by a profound crisis of Faith. We all know loved ones who have left the practice of the faith. We witness in the lives of our family members, neighbors, friends and co-workers that there is confusion and many people struggle with problems, fears and doubts of all kinds. But crisis meets opportunity! Jesus gives us all the answers and the Lighthouse Catholic Media CDs give us a better, deeper, and richer understanding of who Jesus really is and what He wants to do for us if only we will Trust in Him. Lent is upon us and it’s a great time to stope by the kioski and pick up a CD or two. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you select the titles. Then put $3 per CD in the envelopes provided and place it in the collection. THANK YOU! The money enables us to keep the program going.
