Historical Information of St. Hilda’s School

1929: St. Hilda’s School was started by Mr K. Abraham.

1934: Archdeacon Graham White acquired the school, making it an Anglican school for girls. The religious founder also chose the motto “Go Forward” (Exodus 14:15) for the school

Pre-1945: The Japanese occupied the school during the war.

1945: St. Hilda’s was the first private school to be re-opened.

Mid-1980: Plans were drawn for St. Hilda’s to relocate to Tampines due to increasing demand.

1990: Bishop Moses Tay consecrated the school “To the Glory of God”. In the same year, the school was officially opened by the late Senior Minister for Education, Dr. Tay Eng Soon.
