LETTER FROM
REV. ALISTAIR ANQUETIL
Dear Friends and Members of St Columba’s,
The following was posted a few weeks back on Facebook
by Mrs Ann Klemptner, a longstanding member and elder
of our congregation, and is being shared with her
permission:
I've just started a new job as Administrator at our
church. Quite something to start a new career at the
age of almost 64! But I'm loving it as I'm working
with and for the nicest people you could ever wish to
meet. As I arrive in the morning I am greeted by a
beautiful garden, and then as I leave, it's so lovely
watching the young families playing in our very well
-utilised park across the road from the church.
Ann is proving to be ideally suited (with no great surprise)
to the role that she has assumed and has been particularly
well received by fellow members of staff and of the
congregation. It has been said before, that the environment
in the church office is one of warmth, care and helpfulness;
this is perhaps even more so the case with her appointment.
It is particularly special that our office staff are all members
of St Columba’s. With this in mind and recognising how
important Sundays are to all of us, I appeal to everybody to
also allow them the joy and peace of worship and
community on a Sunday, without reference to office-related
matters that should please be raised only during the normal
weekly office hours.
Some of you may be aware that Margie Maker had a
medical procedure this week to replace a battery relating to
an earlier operation. This was a great success and Margie
is doing well.
Affectionately yours
Alistair

Candis Angelene has had many live performances as a solo artist for corporate events and
functions. She gained a wealth of experience on stage working mainly as an understudy for
musical theatre productions. Her television experience was brief but exciting and she has
worked on Isidingo and Egoli as an actress, and appeared as a performing artist for musical
variety shows. Her most memorable experience was representing South Africa at The Inter-
national Folk Song Festival in Nanning, China.
In 2009, Candis Angelene launched her debut album Ancient Light. The album received rave reviews
The April 2010 of the South African Oprah Magazine said "With its calm and soothing spirit, this album will be welcome respite after a long day"
