Dear Parishioners,
Happy Easter May the Risen Lord resurrect in you the victory of His new life, His new spirit and
renew His Love within you!! We hope all the Liturgies of Holy Week and Easter
have strengthened you in your faith.
Rogation Day Mass and Blessing of the Seeds and Soil -- St. Clement Parish will host the Diocesan Rogation Day Mass and Blessing of the Seeds and Soil. Bishop Siegel will be the main celebrant of the Mass, which starts at 6:00 PM. You can bring a small bag of seeds and soil to be blessed. The Rogation Day Mass is sponsored by the Rural Life Office of the diocese. A brief reception in the narthex follows the Mass. Rogation Day Service is for farmers and gardeners, which I think includes all of us. All welcome. Right to Life of Southwestern Indiana 2018 Spring Banquet -- At the present we have one ticket left. Ticket fee is $55.00 per ticket. So we don't overbook reservations, please see Father Will, if you would like to reserve that ticket. We could also have a stand-by list. Banquet held at the Old National Bank Events Plaza in Evansville. Doors open at 5:00. Banquet at 6:00 PM. Diocesan Capital Campaign Refund -- About two weeks or so ago we received our first refund check from our Diocesan Capital Campaign. The diocese will issue them two times a year. That check was in the amount of $38,759.67. Remember, our half of this Diocesan Capital Campaign will go to pay off our debt for our new church. So this is what we did with that check. With that amount and the amount we had in the Building Fund, we paid four months loan amount. So, great news and Congratulations -- our debt for the new church is now down to right at $76,000.00. Parish Council Meeting -- Wednesday evening, April 4, 2018, at 7:15 PM in the Social Hall. St. Rupert Cemetery Board will have a workday on Saturday, April 14, 2018, starting at 8:00 AM. Bring rakes and shovels for spring clean-up. All volunteers welcome. Now that the Lenten Fish Fries are over, a tremendous word of thanks to Dennis McVey and all the people who helped in any way to make the Fish Fries a great success, to Janet Maurer for running the kitchen crew, to Deb Funk for the successful Auction, to all the Sponsors and to those who donated items for the Auction, to the Ladies Club for manning the Country Store, to Marilyn Baehl, who did all the calling for desserts, and to all who brought the great desserts, to all who came to eat, to those who prepared the food, and to all who set up and cleaned up, and anyone I missed. Thanks so very much. Unveiled Marriage Preparation Weekend -- April 28-29, 2018 -- Attention Engaged Couples! We congratulate you on your upcoming marriage. Our next Unveiled Marriage Preparation weekend is April 28-29. Registration closes April 15, so register now. You can go to https://www.ccevansville.org/unveiled.html to register and see what other couples are saying about the retreat. Please contact Eric Girten at 812-423-5456 with any questions. We look forward to seeing you. If you participated in the online Best Lent Ever from Dynamic Catholic daily meditations during Lent, how did you like them? what did you learn from them? how have they inspired you? Let me know, it would be good to hear from you.
Dear God, Why do you allow so much violence in our schools? Signed, A concerned student

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The RCIA process involves a number of steps that are meant to guide you on your journey toward becoming a Catho-lic. Depending on your past, such as your baptismal status, the RCIA process may differ slightly for each individual. The stages of the RCIA process · Inquiry - In this first stage, you are known as an inquirer. When someone first decides to become a member of the Catholic Church, after a time of reflec-tion, they may decide to enter the RCIA process. From this point on, they be-come a member of the Catechumenate. · Rite of Acceptance / Catechumenate During the second stage, you are known as a Catechumen. This is the primary learning phase of the RCIA proc-ess. You will spend time in study, prayer, and scriptures. · Rite of Election - At this stage, you become a part of the elect. At the be-ginning of Lent, Catechumens ask to be baptized into the Church. From this point, you are entering the final phase before becoming a member of the Catholic Church. · Sacrament of Initiation - Celebrated at the Easter Vigil, the elect are made formal members of the Church. The elect are baptized, confirmed, and then receive the Eucharist for the first time. · Mystagogy - This final stage is a pe-riod of growth. As new members of the Catholic Church, you will strengthen your faith and learn to apply it to your daily life.
Coming into Full Communion For those who have already been bap-tized, they are known as Candidates. As a Candidate, you will go through many of the same periods of growth as the Catechumens. For Candidates, the focus is on teaching the foundations and traditions of the Catholic Church in con-trast to other Christian denominations. Candidates are brought into the Catholic Church by receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. This cele-bration does not take place at the Easter Vigil. A new series of Inquiry sessions will begin soon. Please contact the parish RCIA director, Mary Ann Miles, if you have further questions and/or to begin this process. Mary Ann may be reached at the following numbers: 812-897-4653, 812-567-4761, or 812-449-0633.

The logo for St. Clement Parish has been an anchor in the past. We would like to see something which shows the merger of St. Clement Church with St. Rupert Church as one parish. Share with us what you would like this logo to reflect. Our UNITY as a parish with God through faith, hope and charity and prayers IS OUR FUTURE. I know we have some very artistic members in this par-ish, one of which I am not one. LAWN MOWING SEASON IS NEAR! We are in need of a few energetic, outdoor loving parishioners who would be willing to help mow the St. Clement church grounds this summer. Some of our former mowers are unable to do so this year, so we could really use some additional help. Mowers and fuel are provided and it generally requires two people about two hours to complete the grounds. Contact Dave Schnur if interested in helping (812-573-3126) or for more info.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL MEETING Our normal monthly meeting has been moved to April 9, 2018 at 10:30 am. We will have a special guest speaker. Will, Deb Funk or Rosemary Beckman.
