A little about the AuthorsMYRON HOLTZMAN, a longtime sportswriter and member of the BBWAA (Baseball Writers Association of America) is the former Sports Editor of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. He also worked for the Sporting News and for the Associated Press. In 1993, he joined Anheuser-Busch as a Publications Manager for the St. Louis Cardinals. He oversaw editing and designing the Cardinals Magazine (later Gameday Magazine) in addition to the Cardinals’ yearbooks.

Holtzman is now a freelance communications specialist, editing and writing books, newsletters and articles for various publications. He is chairman of the St. Louis Baseball Writers dinner and serves as PR director for the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame. His latest book, The Cardinals of Cooperstown (2014), was co-authored with Greg Marecek and is in its second printing.

GREG MARECEK has been a sports writer and editor for 17 years, has founded four companies, three in the sports marketing field, including nationally known SNI Sports Network (1975) and Working Fire, which develops educational programs for fireman. He served as the play-by-play television voice for the St. Louis Blues, University of Missouri football and basketball, Saint Louis University basketball and more.

Marecek owned the broadcast rights to many teams including the University of Wisconsin, Colorado and created the Big Eight Basketball Tournament Television Network. He owned and produced programs on NBC and CBS Sports, owned three sports radio stations in St. Louis and authored five St. Louis sports books about the football Cardinals, Hawks basketball and Cardinals baseball. He also created and syndicated several national TV shows and has been inducted into three Halls of Fame, two of them twice for different achievements.
