Kannada Competitions
St.Anne’s First grade college Department of kannada conduct
kannada competitions for the Kannada students regarding interclass
competition on 27th July 2017 in room D-21.Kannada proverb
competition, kannada bhavageethe solo singing competition, kannada
poetry recital competition, kannada quiz competition, kannada essay
writing competition were held. In kannada proverb competition : Uma
Maheshwari of III B.com ‘C’ won the 1st prize. Swetha.U of III B.com ‘C’
won the 2nd prize. Lavanya.N of I B.com ‘C’ won the 3rd prize. In kannada
bhavageethe solo singing competition : Yashodha of III BBA won the 1st
prize.Padma Shree of III B.com ‘B’ won the 2nd prize.Achala of II B.com ‘B’
and Sandhya of I BBA won the 3rd prize.In kannada poetry recital
competition : Sr.Mary of II BA won the 1st prize.
Likitha of II B.com ‘B’ won the 2nd prize.Laveena of II B.com ‘B’ and Pallavi
of III B.com ‘C’ won the 3rd prize. In kannada quiz competition : Soundarya
and group of II B.com ‘C’ won the 1st prize. Padma Shree and group of III
B.com ‘B’ won the 2nd Sowmiya and group of II Bsc won the 3rd prize. In
kannada essay writing competition: Sowmiya.S of III B.com “B’ won the 1st
prize. Kalpana.N of III BBA won the 2nd prize. Mary Bascilika of II B.com ‘B’
won the 3rd prize.
For all these competitions Dr.D.Bharath [HOD and lecturer] and
Dr.K.C.Munikrishnappa [lecturer] were judges.

REPORT
St.Anne’s First Grade College for women conducted inter-collegiate
competition for the students on 15th September 2017. In this Arty Fact
2017 UDBHAV Kannada department also conducted Kannada Debate
competition, Kannada Pick and speak, Bhavagete, solo singing
competitions for the students. These competitions were held in D-24.
Eight students from various colleges participated in the Kannada Pick and
speak and seven students from different colleges participated in solo
singing.Rithu Jaio (M.S. Ramaiah college), Priyadarshini H.K (Vijaya
college), Deepa.R (MLA First Grade college for Women), these students
got 1st prize, 2nd prize and 3rd prize. In Kannada solo singing competition
Kusuma (MLA First Grade college for Women), Sreenidhi.S (Vijaya
college), Varalakshmi (Sacred Arts), Bhargavi.V (St.Anne’s First Grade
college for Women), these students got 1st prize,2nd prizeand 3rd prize and
consolations prizes secured 3rd prize.
Udayalekha up coming cine lyricist judged these two competitions.
Dr.D.Bharath and Dr.K.C. Munikrishnappa of Kannada faculty judged these
two competitions.

HISTORICAL TRIP 2017-2018
REPORT
As a part of the historical visit the language department of St. Anne’s
FGC for women organized a one day trip to Srirangapattana, on 14th
October 2017. This was an initiative by the language club to bring
students close to the field experience as the knowledge was only
theoretical. The main focus of the trip was to show the students about the
importance of Independence movement. One of the warriors being Tippu
Sultan and the place was the right choice to show the history of that place.
As planned scheduled the students wiling to join the trip assembled in the
college campus. With three of language faculty we started our journey.
The place was full of historical importance we could get more information
about the place in depth. The students had a great time in gaining
practical knowledge of the place as well interacted with the localities to
get some awareness of the place importance. Based on that we could
sketch the geographical and history of that place. In the bus itself the
students witnessed the fort of Srirangapattanam. There after the students
were taken to Bandikhana which means jail for the prisoners. There was a
locality that transformed into guide and explained the dark part of
prisoners being treated there and more information was highlighted
about the place. Thereon we saw the last death place where Tippu’s body
was found.
Our next visit was to palace and museum. It was a knowledge full
experience for the students to have live view of the architecture and
design of the srirangapattana model. The students viewed many royal
things used by the kings like coins, guns, clothes etc.., at last the students
were taken to Cauvery river banks. There is a place of sangam where in
rivers join and most of the rituals also take place. The students could get
some information about the things happening and relaxed themselves by
enjoying the nature and scenic view of the river flow.
Total number of participation:
1. 3 faculty members
2. 48 students from all the streams.

Department of Kannada VIDEO SHOW
REPORT 2017-2018
On 19th February 2018 Department of Kannada arranged a special
video show for 1 B.com ‘C’ students about “SHUDRA”(untouchables). This
show is to create awareness among students about caste exploitation in
India. One of the poem named ‘KAVACHA’ is based on untouchability;
regarding to this the video show was arranged to Dr.Munikrishnappa
accompanied students.
On 9th April 2018 Department of Kannada arranged a special video
show for 1 B.sc students about Jen Gudel research about Chimpanzees.
This show is to create awareness among students about Jen Gudel as it is
one of the parts of a lesson to them; this show is arranged.
Dr.K.C.Munikrishnappa accompanied with the students in D-21.

KANNADA UTSAVA REPORT
2017-2018
On 27th January 2018 department of kannada conducted ‘KANNADA
UTSAVA’ through ‘BELAKU CLUB’ in the college at D-12 Rev. Sr. Maggie
inaugurated the program by lightening the lamp. Dr. D. Bharath and Dr. K.
C. Munikrishnappa were present there. Kannada solo Bhavageethe and
Janapadageethe competition program were held for the Kannada
students. Students from various class participated in the solo singing. In
the solo Bhavageethe Achala(2 B.com B) secured 1st prize, Elizabeth Rani
(2nd B.com B) secured 2nd prize and Bindu(2nd B.com B) secured 3rd prize.
In the solo Janapadageethe Likitha (2nd B.com B) and Triveni (2nd B.com
B) secured 1st and 2nd prizes. Dr. D Bharath and Dr. K. C. Munikrishnappa
the Kannada faculty organized and judged the competition.

PERFORMING ARTS REPORT
2017-2018
The department of Kannada on 4th September 2017 from the
students of 1st B.com organized an Art Performing Enact of a
mini scene about Bheema and Draupadi. This was based on
Kannada text syllabus “Kurukulanthakam Galita Kopane ee
Bheemam”.Poem by the poet Kavi Ranna of the 9th century.
Dr.D.Bharath accompanied with the students.

HUMANITIES FEST REPORT
2017-2018
On 6th March 2018 Humanity Fest was organized by the
department of English, Hindi, Kannada, Psychology and
Journalism of St. Anne’s College. Regarding to this department
of Kannada organized Kannada Chart exhibition and Kannada
students in Room D-20.
Mrs.Indumathi.S (HOD and Lecturer in Hindi) judged the
chart competition and Model exhibition.
