Every year we celebrate Easter for seven weeks — we need

all this time to appreciate all the new things that God is

doing in our lives. On this Second Sunday of Easter, which

the Church has also designated as the Sunday of Divine

Mercy, we focus on the early church and how those

disciples received and spread the Good News of God’s

merciful love.

Monday: Acts 4:23-31; John 3:1-8

Tuesday: 1 Peter 5:5b-14; Mark 16:15-20

Next Sunday we will hear the story of the disciples on the

road to Emmaus, a story that we may find played out in our

own lives more than we realize. Two despondent followers

of Jesus walk away from Jerusalem, not knowing which way

to turn. All their hopes have been dashed. We too have

walked that road when our life had been disrupted, our

dreams snatched away. Then, miraculously, like the

disciples in the story, we discover God’s presence in the

midst of our despair.

Please note: No Confessions this Tuesday for the general

public; Confessions on Tuesday will be for the teens

preparing for Confirmation.

In addition to the memorials and honorariums listed in our

Easter bulletin, donations have also been received:

Profession of Faith (instead of the Nicene Creed). On two

of Sprinkling in place of the Penitential Act at Mass.
