Grades K-8
St. Ann’s K-8 Classical School is preparing for in-person classes starting in the Fall. Fr. Peter Cebulka, Head of School, is working with a Task Force and is developing plans for a safe return to St. Ann School. Many other schools, because of the large number of stu-dents and limited classroom space, will have different ar-rangements — partial day or partial week attendance, re-mote learning only or hybrid learning. St. Ann’s School has the capacity for more students to at-tend. Our school may be an attractive option to parents who want their child to have a regular in-school experience. Contact St. Ann School for information about enrollment in our K-8 classical school. Help us also get word out to other parents you may know who are not familiar with our school.
Social Concerns Ministry Social Ministry has con nuously assis ng those in need during the pandemic through the dona ons of many pa-rishioners. We were able to assist with food, clothing, and rental assistance. Furthermore, all of the homebound pa-rishioners have been contacted to see if they had shoppers or other needs and were ge ng through this pandemic.
The St. Dorothy Garden has been maintained by Susan Pick and her son Lucas Pick. They planted and have been caring for the garden. Also. they are currently picking the vegeta-bles and delivering to the families in need in our area. Each family receives cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, and pep-pers, and string beans currently. All our very grateful and thank us.
Water Pipe Replacement Job Thank you to all who con nue to contribute generously in support of the project to replace the water main pipe for the school building. This is an unan cipated expense and an urgent need. Your support means a lot. Thank you.
Social Concerns Ministry The Card Connec on has been busy during the month of August. Laura Sullivan sent 29 cards to our homebound list of parishioners who are not able to a end mass. This act of kindness keeps the parishioner in touch with their par-ish. If you know of a parishioner that is homebound and or living in an assisted living/nursing home, please contact Chris ne Esposito at 908-725-1008 #1 for the church #6 for Chris ne or [email protected]. Thank you Laura for your dedica on and caring ways to keep our parish family together.
Sunday Mass Attendance
Attendance at the 8am and 10am Sunday Masses has grown to near capacity, given the restrictions in effect. If you are uncomfortable attending those Masses you might want to consider switching to the 5pm Sunday Mass. It has been about half as full.
We are considering returning to our normal Mass schedule after Labor Day. Please keep watch for more information in the weeks to come.
PART-TIME OPPORTUNITY
St Ann School and church is in need of a part-time custodian. Please contact the parish office with referrals or inquiries.

Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God,
what is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:1)
Scripture Reflec on August 23, 2020 — Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time IS 22:19-23; PS 138:1-3, 6, 8; ROM 11:33-36; MT 16:13-20 Our readings today reveal beau ful truths about our God, and they challenge us to look at the truth about ourselves as well. The second reading from Paul’s le er to the Romans describes the a ributes of God in powerful, eloquent terms. “Oh, the depths of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how unsearcha-ble his ways!” It makes you want to stand up and cheer. Paul ends the pas-sage with this with final shout of praise, “For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” We can and should join in this chorus of praise. But mere words are not enough — sen ment alone will not do for this perfect, all-loving and all-powerful God of ours. We must love Him with our whole being. We must make our very lives a grateful gi of love to Him. This is how we can truly give Him “glory forever.” Our Gospel passage, from Ma hew, leads us to take a seri-ous look at whether our lives give God the glory He de-serves. It comes in the form of a ques on that Jesus poses to the disciples. He leads up to it gently enough: “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they offer varying responses. Then, Jesus gets personal with them. “But who do you say that I am?” Peter gets the answer right: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus is ge ng personal with us today. He poses the same ques on to each one of us who call ourselves His stewards and modern-day disciples. Surely, we would not hesitate to answer just as Peter did, that Jesus is the Christ, Son of the living God. But do our lives truly reflect this answer? If we really be-lieve that Christ is the Son of God, sent to save us from our sins and lead us to heaven, then we must say so — not just with words, but with our ac ons. Do my ambi ons and pri-ori es in life say that Christ is my Savior and I am His disci-ple? Does my budget, my family life, my entertainment say so? The gi s and blessings that God has given us — our me, our talents, our material possessions — are meant to be used in a manner that says "Christ is my Savior and I am His disciple." The most eloquent praise we can offer Him is a life lived in grateful response to His unfathomable love. This is the beauty and power of a stewardship way of life. — Stewardship Reflec ons by Catholic Stewardship Consultants
LITANY OF TRUST
The coronavirus pandemic has played havoc with our lives. Uncertainty, fears, instability, annoyance, impa ence, dis-appointment… these may be some of the feeling that you experience as you nego ate life these days. Dealing with these feelings, especially over an extended period of me, may deteriorate our confidence, weaken our sense of pur-pose, and confuse our thought process. I recommend this Litany of Trust as a way to help refocus you on what is con-stant and sure, on whose presence and love you can al-ways depend on. Try making it part of your daily prayer. Pray it with your spouse and children. Together let us trust.

The Process of Continual Conversion
Conversion is not like winning the lottery. It's more like investing in a retirement plan.
Conversion is a long, disciplined, time-consuming, non-compromising, friendship with God in His Church.
Some days we walk, others we jog, and still others we sprint.
But we never stop.
