FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
To be good stewards we must be good shepherds,
willing to lay down our lives for those committed to
our care, not mere hired hands who run off, “leaving
the sheep to be snatched and scattered by the
wolf.”
St. Vincent de Paul Society - Outreach Office
Next Food Pantry: May 2nd 9:30AM-11AM
Today, we celebrate “Good Shepherd Sunday” where we
reflect on Jesus’ love and care for us.
This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul was able to be “Good Shepherds” to the hearts of
the poor, by assisting at 80 visits providing food,
transportation, rent and other bills. God bless you!
Next weekend will be our monthly food
drive. Tomato sauce, black beans, jello
and canned fruit would be appreciated.

After 2 years of preparation, these young boys and
girls received the Eucharist for the first time, this
weekend at the 10:15AM Mass.
We are very proud of them and we wish to say a
special thank you to their Catechists: Teresa Buttaro,
Bertha del Carpio and Jayne Sanchez.
This Friday, May 1st, we will hold our Confirmation
rehearsal in the church at 7PM sharp. All Confirmandi
and their sponsor must attend this rehearsal.
It will be over at approximately 8:15PM.
Confirmation will take place in our Church at 11:00AM
on Saturday, May 2nd.
The second collection next
weekend will benefit the
elementary schools of the
Diocese and the thousands of
children whose lives are enriched
by these schools every day.
Our schools provide a strong, quality Catholic education with
high academic standards and where our faith is learned and
lived. They are places where our Roman Catholic Faith is
passed onto the next generation and provide our Diocese with a
high profile expression of our common mission to evangelize.
Everyone who passes by our buildings or who sees one of our
children in uniform has to say to themselves that the Roman
Catholic Faith is alive and relevant.
Your continued support for our elementary schools and for the
Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, the charity here on Long Island
that provides tuition assistance to deserving families who
desire a Catholic school education for their children, is critical
to the schools’ success. Please be as generous as possible in
next week’s special collection.
