2. Remedial Education - Individual coaching schedule
designed for the needs and abilities of the child. The
schedule is classified as: Mild Level: Supplement mainstream
schooling with an hour or two of remedial coaching twice or
thrice a week with supplementary occupation therapy and
speech therapy if it is necessary. Moderate Level: Intensive,
full-time coaching in the special school for a year or two with
the goal of integrating the child into the mainstream school.
Severe Level: Completion of Secondary & Senior Secondary
School education through State board Examinations and
NIOS
3. Srishti provides facilities for Counseling, Cognitive
retraining Behaviour therapy, Aptitude testing,
Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, Music & art therapy,
Movement therapy, Instrument enrichment to improve
cognitive skills and Memory to improve overall functions of
the child.
Srishti keeping up to its endeavor to equip the mothers and
teachers to reach out to all children, is organizing a two
month CERTIFICATE COURSE - REACH THE CHILDREN
WITH DYSLEXIA & ATTENTION DISORDERS (A Training
program on Teaching Strategies for children with learning
problems) This workshop would empower the Parent and
the teacher to create an environment conducive for all
learners with different learning styles.
Srishti Shruthi Academy for Counseling provides
Psychological Assessment & Personal counseling for
Academic, Memory, Behavior, Emotional problems of
Children and adolescents to enhance their family relations,
and optimize the child's potential for effective living. This
Academy also offers marital therapy, family counseling, and
clinical counseling for general population.

Children with Learning disabilities, Attention deficit
disorder (ADD), Attention deficit. Hyperactive
disorder(ADHD), Autism, Asperger's and minor
neurological dysfunction.
What does having a learning disability (LD) mean?
Children with Learning disability may have average to high
IQ levels that nevertheless perform poorly in academics.
This is a hidden difficulty which impairs their reading,
writing, math and comprehension skills. This is also known
as processing disorder due to mild neurological problems.
These children demonstrate an obvious gap between their
aptitude and performance.
ADD/ADHD is a neurological disorder. The major
symptoms of the disorder are Distractibility,
forgetfulness, inability to concentrate, poor attention
span and impulsiveness. The difference between the two
disorders is ADD is Inattentive and easily distractible and
ADHD is ADD with Hyperactivity. The presence of these
symptoms hinders the learning of the child.
Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically
appears during the first three years of life. It is a result of a
neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the
brain. Three distinctly affected areas are Impairment of
social interaction, Impairment of language and
communication, Impairment of flexibility of thought and
behaviour. A high functioning autism can be called as
Asperger's disorder.
Srishti's Approach:
Broadly, Srishti's approach consists of: 1. Psychological
Assessments and Occupational Therapist assessment to
ascertain IQ levels, learning difficulty, Sensory Integration
difficulties, Hand function, and aptitude tests for future
career.

The Founder Director is Dr. S.Thenmozhi M.A., Ph.D
a psychologist specialised in children & teenage counseling.
She is a visiting consultant counseling psychologist at
Sundaram Medical Foundation since the past 10 years and
offers free counseling services to Divorce couples in Family
Court, High Court through MOU between Family Court
and Madras University. She also runs a clinic for counseling
called Shruthi Academy for Counseling, Training & Research
which offers psychological testing, personality profiling,
career counseling & guidance, personal counseling, Marital
& premarital counseling and Training programs like
personality development programs for children,
adolescents and young adults, parenting programs,
corporate trainings and Research projects.
