Objective: provide a design standard for safe and reliable towing and anchor handlingoperation
Application: Offshore service vessels intended for towing of floating objects in open waters and objects on sea bed in addition to subsurface deployment and lifting of anchoring equipment.

New Anchor Handling notation
� Requirements to the arrangement are introduced, and mandatory equipment:- Anchor handling winch*- Shark jaw*- Towing pins* - Stern roller* Requirements for DNV certification
� Functional based definitions of equipment to accommodate new solutions
� Specific requirements to the equipment introduced, with possibility for accepting equivalent solutions
� Maximum loads and specifications such as emergency capabilities of the equipment are to be specified by the owner/yard/manufacturer
� The actual specifications of the equipment shall be posted on the bridge
� Requirements to breaking strength of the wire are removed
� SiO survey requirements introduced
Main focus: enable increased crew awareness of the actual capabilities of the installed equipment

Updated Tug Notation� Tug is defined as a ship type notation,
while Towing is an additional notation related to Offshore Service Vessel
� Tug notation will in most cases be superfluous for a typical AHTS due to the introduction of the new notations
The notation has been revised with the following main changes:�Updated testing requirements and bollard pull procedure�Documentation requirements have been revised �Towing arrangement and stability requirements have been revised�SiO survey requirements introduced�Towing arrangement drawing to be posted on bridge

Dynamic Positioning Systems� DNV is developing new DP- notations customised for markets where the
DYNPOS- standard is considered beyond the actual needs
� The new DP- notations will also be based on the principles in IMO MSC/Circ. 645 “Guidelines for vessels with dynamic positioning systems”
� The existing DYNPOS- notations are unchanged
� The DYNPOS- notations have additional requirements as compared to the DP- notations
� Class entries to the DYNPOS- series:- Documentation review, performance testing and FMEA failure testing
� Class entries to the DP- series:- Based on a corresponding, valid and maintained DP class notation, from the
losing society
