Backing and outer border - 5/8 yd. 1/8 yd. or scraps for blocks Binding - 1/4 yd. Cutting Border 1 Cut 2 strips - 1 1/2” x width of fabric Border 2 Cut 2 strips - 2 1/4” x width of fabric Binding Cut 3- 2 1/4” x width of fabric Directions 1. The 3 blocks, Tulip, Crocus and Daffodil, are foundation paper pieced. 2. After stitching the 3 blocks, leave the paper backing in place until all blocks are stitched together and Border 1 is attached. 3. Stitch the 3 blocks together together. Seams may be pressed in either direction, or open to reduce bulk. 4. Measure the top to determine the length and width for Border 1; trim the border strips to length, if necessary. Stitch the two long borders first, pressing seams toward the border. Finally, stitch the short end borders, pressing seams toward the border. 5. Repeat for Border 2. 6. Layer the top with batting and backing. Quilt as desired. 7. Stitch the binding strips together in diagonal seams and bind the quilt. These patterns are for personal use only. Spring Flowers Wall Hanging 13” x 28”
