Your Only Son (Lamb of God)
Twila Paris
1. Your only Son, no sin to hide,
But you have sent him from your side To walk upon this guilty sod, And to become the Lamb of God. REFRAIN: Oh Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God; I love the holy Lamb of God. Oh wash me in his precious blood My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
2. Your gift of love they crucified, They laughed and scorned him as he died; The humble King they named a fraud, And sacrificed the Lamb of God. TO REFRAIN
3. I was so lost I should have died, But you have brought me to your side To be led by your staff and rod, And to be called a lamb of God. TO REFRAIN

JOURNEY TO BURKINA FASO
Care for God’s
Creation
God created every plant, every mountain-top, every animal—everything. And God said that these things are
good. We find God in these good things, and so we must take care of creation - for ourselves and for our entire
human family.
ENCOUNTER SAFIATA
The dry and dusty climate of Burkina Faso means farming can be difficult. It means water can be hard to come by. It means Safiata and her family often face
hunger. Even though she had two plots of land to farm, the many moths each year without rain made feeding her
9 children and 16 grandchildren a real challenge.
That’s why CRS is providing farmers, like Safiata, with more land to grow crops - like onions - that thrive in dry
climates. And thanks to a CRS sponsored irrigation system, she knows she’ll have access to water year
round. That means he crops will grow, and she’ll be able to sell some at the market. “I pay school fees thanks to selling the vegetables. The vegetables help solve the
problems my family faces,” Safiata says.
She is also preparing for the future. Together with others, Safiata is putting a little of the income she earns into a community savings pool. Those who contribute
can borrow money from the fund for emergencies, school fees for their children, or to build businesses.
A polluted river, poor soil, rising waters - these are some environmental reasons that force families to migrate.
They remind us to care for creation.

Catholic Worker Bake Sale
Members of Saints Francis & Therese Catholic
Worker will be here on the weekend of
March 17 and 18, 2018 with their homemade
baked goods. The sale of their wholesome bread
and muffins, made with organic ingredients, is the
main source of income which supports their
ministries. They shelter homeless men and women,
and work for justice and peace. There is no set
price for the bread as they prefer to depend on your
generosity to carry on the works of mercy.

How about making a Cursillo weekend?
Cursillo or "short course in Christianity" is an uplifting and educational experience. Cursillo was
brought from Spain to the United States in 1962. The weekend is facilitated by a team of
laypeople and clergy who deliver organized talks and discussions. What the presenters add to the
talks is the witness of their own lives, their struggles and triumphs in Christ. The weekend is full of
laughter, prayer, great music, wonderful meals and so much more. Our 2018 dates are: Men’s -
February 22-25 & June 14-17; Women’s - May 3-6 & October 25-28. All weekends will be held at the
Immaculate Conception Spiritual Renewal Center in Putnam, CT. For additional information, please

Pernet Family Health Services
Dear Deacon Ron Buron,
We are writing to express our sincere thanks to you and the members of St. Brigid and Assumption Parishes for all your support to Pernet Family Health Service’s Holiday Giving Program.
Thanks to your church’s support we were able to serve over 360 families this year which is roughly 1,180 individuals in the Worcester County area! Many of our families continue to have tough times and difficulty finding the goods and services they need, especially during the holiday season. The contributions of kind-hearted donors like you bring much needed support to the people we serve.
There is no way to fully express our gratitude for your loyalty and your continued dedication to our agency during this time of year. The generous gifts we received from your parish go a long way in making our families holiday season brighter. We are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors like yourself who answer the call to give because you believe as we do, in the dignity and worth of each individual.
Sincerely yours,
Sheilah Dooley Executive Director
