“I can’t walk away from?a murder in progress.”
Former Las Vegas Police OfficerChet Gallagher exchanged his uniform, gun and badge for a prison orangejumpsuit in January, 1 989 for refusing toarrest the 92 prayerful pro-l ifers andinstead remaining with them in theirattempt to peaceful ly rescue the prebornchildren about to die that day. Choosingto obey God rather than his superiorofficer who suspended him on the spotand commanded him to “leave the areaimmediately”, he quietly said to thesergeant, “I know you don’t bel ieve
they’re kil l ing children inthere, but I ’m convinced theyare, and as a police officer, Icannot walk away from what Iknow to be a murder inprogress.”
One special baby“Joshua” was scheduled tobe aborted that day and is
now 26 years old, thanks to the faithfulrescuers and one obedient Christiancop who acted upon both his oath ofoffice and the Word of God.
Chet wil l be our keynote speakerthis year for PLM’s Annual SpringBanquet. Don’t miss this amazingtestimony of courage, commitment andGod’s faithfulness to a man who wasthree months from ful l retirement, andlaid it al l down that day when he choseto obey God rather than man.
Starting earl ier this year at 6:30, thebanquet wil l again be hosted by FirstBaptist Church of Jackson, 431 N. StateStreet in the Fellowship Hall East.Highl ighting the menu are two frequentlyrequested favorites, Chicken CordonBleu and French Silk Pie.

The
incidence
of advanced
breast cancer
with metastasis, spreading to
bone, brain, lungs, etc. among
women in the 25-39 age range has
skyrocketed by nearly 90% during
the 33 year period from 1 976 to
2009, according to research led by
Rebecca Johnson, MD in the Journal
of the American Medical Association
(JAMA) published Feb 27, 201 3. [1 ]
“I t’s utterly stunning that Johnson’steam called the increased incidence inadvanced cancers among youngwomen ‘small , ’” charged Karen Malec, president of the Coalition onAbortion/Breast Cancer. “That’s anearly doubled increase in theincidence of a disease with a mean fiveyear fatal ity rate of 69%! By contrast, the mean five-year fatal ity rate amongwomen with breast cancers that havenot spread to distant sites is 1 3.2%.
“I t’s peculiar, but not surprising, thatthe authors offered no hypotheses in
their paper explaining the increasedincidence in advanced cancers amongyoung women,” argued Mrs. Malec.“Abortion and use of hormonalcontraceptive steroids amongteenagers are the elephants in thel iving room that the medicalestabl ishment ignores.” [2-5]
The rate of advanced breast cancerdoubled for African Americans, ages25-39, cl imbing from 3.1 4 in 1 976 to6.25 per 1 00,000 in 2009, with astatistical ly significant annual percentchange of 3.50. “Is this any wonderwhen the abortion rate for AfricanAmerican women is more than doublethat of white women?” asked Mrs.Malec.
By comparison, the rate ofadvanced breast cancer for non-Hispanic whites in the same age groupclimbed by 56% during that period from1 .52 in 1 976 to 2.37 per 1 00,000 in2009, with a statistical ly significantannual percent change of 2.67.
“Many more young women are atrisk for developing advanced breastcancer in the future because of anObamaCare mandate requiringemployers to purchase insurance thatwil l provide “free” (cancer-causing)hormonal contraceptive steroids and
abortion-inducing drugs,” warnedMalec. “I t doesn’t matter to governmentofficials how many lives are destroyedbecause of it. ”
The Coalition on Abortion/BreastCancer is an international women’sorganization founded to protect the healthand save the lives of women by educatingand providing information on abortion as arisk factor for breast cancer.

On April 1 6, 201 2, Governor PhilBryant signed into law House Bil l 1 390,requiring anyone performing abortionsin Mississippi to be a board-certifiedOB-GYN physician with privi leges toadmit patients at an area hospital.Supporters of the bil l state the law isneeded to protect women injured duringan abortion procedure. Opponents claimthat the intent of the legislation is not topromote women's health but to force theonly remaining abortion cl inic in thestate, Jackson Women's HealthOrganization (JWHO), to close. Clinicowner Diane Derzis has said no localhospital would grant the privi leges to theout-of-state OB-GYNs who work at hercl inic. "They were clear that they didn'tdeal with abortion and they didn't wantthe internal or the external pressure ofdealing with it, " Derzis told AP on Jan.11 of this year.
The pro-abortion Center forReproductive Rights' state advocacycounsel, Jordan Goldberg, al leges thatthe controversy is “ not about medicine,it's just about politics." Abortionproponent Planned Parenthood (PP)also objects to the new legislation.Felicia Brown-Wil l iams, regional directorof public policy for Planned Parenthoodin Hattiesburg, Mississippi, said in earlyApri l , 201 2, that the bil l "puts in place
requirements that intentional ly try tomake it impossible for physicians toprovide abortion services." According totheir national website, “PlannedParenthood believes that women facingan unintended pregnancy must haveaccess to safe, legal abortion serviceswithout interference from thegovernment.” According to Derzis,“There is no medical reason to requirephysicians performing abortions to beboard-certified OB-GYNs or that theyhave admitting privi leges.” (Same AParticle January 11 , 201 3)
Perhaps some “governmentinterference” would have prevented thedeath of a PP patient at a Chicagoabortion cl inic last year. Tonya Reavesdied from a botched D&E (dilation andextraction) abortion at the Loop HealthCenter Planned Parenthood Clinic onFriday, July 20, 201 2, after theabortionist perforated her uterus.Reaves, age 24, languished for five-and-a-half hours in the clinic beforebeing transported to NorthwesternMemorial Hospital. The abortionist didnot personally admit her, and althoughPlanned Parenthood may have knownthe cause of her heavy bleeding, thereis no evidence the clinic informedcaregivers at the hospital. Instead, thehospital discovered the bleeding – more
than one liter of blood in her abdominalcavity – nearly six hours after her arrival, and sadly, too late to save her l ife.
Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamicsl ikes to point out that no one entersmedical school with the goal of workingfor Planned Parenthood as anabortionist. Rather, he notes, “ ful l timeabortionists tend to be the dregs of themedical profession, practitioners whoare so dysfunctional that the only workthey can find is in the abortion industry.Abortionists need to be heldaccountable for providing safe medicaland surgical abortion procedures andadequate fol low-up care for theirpatients. That accountabil ity doesn'tcome from the abortion industry itself, which repeatedly remains silent in theface of cases of obvious substandardcare.”
Board certified OB-GYN physicianand Pro-Life Mississippi Vice President,Dr. Beverly McMil lan states she isforced to agree with Jordan Goldberg ofthe Center for Reproductive Rights on atleast one point. “When radical pro-abortion organizations oppose commonsense legislation that is designed toprotect women's l ives just because itcomes from the pro-l ife community, it's 'not about medicine, it's just aboutpolitics'”.
Safe and Legal???Why Mississippi needs the Hospital Admitting Privileges Law.Breast cancer researchers ignore the
“elephant in the living room”.

Thank you SO much for al lyour support for Pro-LifeMississippi. What are we workingon now? How can you help nowat this most critical time inMississippi 's and our nation'shistory? Where do I start?
We are struggl ing on thesidewalk for our Constitutionalrights. The Jackson Women'sHealth Org. (abortion cl inic), thelocal chapter of the NationalOrganization of Women ("death-scorts"), and the Jackson Policehave made it very difficult to evenget close enough to speak to anexpectant mother. We needprayer, strong counselors, legaladvice and representation.
We are attempting to reachthe younger generation by
sponsoring 40 Days for Life, TheJericho Project, Mothers Day FunRun/Walk for Life, Father's DayWalk-4-Life, Students for Life, andthe Fair Booth.
Planned Parenthood hasbeen operating out of Hattiesburgand has plans to expand theirfacil ity and services, and we needa new campaign there.
Due to the depressedeconomy, last year's contributionswere less than our total expenses. We have low overhead--oneemployee, gracious provision ofadequate office space for whichwe pay taxes, insurance, anduti l i ties-- we don't spend a dimethat's not necessary for thiscause. However, as you know, everything costs money:
brochures, baby models, signs. We have been approached thatwe need to change our messageto reach youth. These are good, but not free.
One way you can help, is byreducing the $5000+ spent onprinting and mail ing newsletters.I f you have an email account, wewould appreciate it if you wouldcall or email the office [email protected] and beput on our email newsletter l ist. Inaddition, when you areconsidering donations to charity, please keep us in mind.
We are fighting for al l of us,and for our future generations.Thank you and God bless!
