GENERAL INFORMATIONTheatre programs start promptly at the advertised start time and latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. Smoking is not allowed in any part of the Pilbeam Theatre or other Council venues. The use of cameras and recording devices during performances is illegal and penalties for infringement of copyright in this way are severe. Please ensure all mobile phones are switched off before entering the auditorium. Crying or fidgety children can be a distraction to other theatregoers and performers, so if you bring your small child to the theatre, please book an aisle seat in case you need to exit the auditorium.

Friends of the Theatre is an organisation where members volunteer to work in various aspects of the theatre such as ushering, bar, candy bar and program selling. Friends receive discounts to many of the shows listed in Spotlight, and also receive this newsletter mailed direct to them. Each time a Friend of the Theatre works they receive a Performance Work Voucher, which is exchanged for tickets to events. Unlimited seats are available in exchange for Performance Work Vouchers on events in Spotlight bearing the blue star symbol. For other events, voucher seats are limited to a total of six seats per performance. Further details as well as membership forms are available from the Box Office.

More than meets the eyeStanley Nichols writes successful children’s stories under the pen name of Grandma Letty but is desperate to be known in his own right as a serious author. When Grandma Letty is voted Grandmother of the Year and Stanley’s house is besieged by reporters and photographers, Stanley is afraid that the exposure will jeopardize the chances of his serious new novel, and so he has to produce a Grandma with farcical results. Performed by Rockhampton Little Theatre.

Dance Infusion’s Dance SpectacularDance Infusion students are set to hit the stage with their annual dancing concert which celebrates the studio’s 20th year. The concert is a spectacular display of many facets of dance including tap, jazz, classical ballet, contemporary, acrobatics & hip hop. This year’s concert will be a journey and celebration of the achievements of the studio over the last 20 years. Performers start from the age of 3 and all are keen and excited to be involved. With over 100 students taking to the stage for the annual spectacular, Dance Infusion’s Dance Spectacular is a must see for all dance lovers.

Gypsy Pathways features a stunning line up of international guests alongside some of Australia’s finest flamenco artists, dancer Simone Pope, guitarist Andrew Veivers and violinist Shenton Gregory. CHICAGOFollowing on the success of Dusty and The Boy From Oz, Rockhampton Venues and Events’ turns its sights on the prohibition era in 2013 with the award winning CHICAGO. CHICAGO is one of the most popular and most awarded musicals the world has seen. It has won six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy, just to name a few. The story centres around murderer Roxie Hart as she tries to beat the murder charge with the help of her slick, devious lawyer, Billy Flynn. CHICAGO contains one show stopping song after another including All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango, When You’re Good to Mama, Mr Cellophane, The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle and more.
