Player resPonsibilitiesPlayers participating in a WARMACHINE: Vengeance release event must bring their own models, stat cards, dice, measuring devices, markers, tokens, and templates. The Event Organizer (EO) must approve any printed media used to track damage.

Players should check with the EO before the event begins if they think any rules questions might arise based on their armies.

sPortsmanshiP and rules disPutesThe objective of organized play is for everyone to have a good time. Players should remain courteous and patient with their opponents and the EO. Players must accept all rulings made by the EO whether or not they agree. The EO always has the final word on rules questions or debates.

We assume all players are good sports who understand fair play. If a dispute arises, call an EO for assistance. Players will remain mature, polite, and fair to their opponents. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification.

An EO can eject a player for any incident he deems unsporting. This includes but is not limited to offensive or abusive conduct, bullying, cheating, repeated rules arguments, and stalling gameplay. If you suspect a player is stalling, call the EO to monitor the game.

Painting, modeling, Proxies, and ConversionsPrivateer Press encourages players to have a fully painted force on the table. Games with fully painted armies are more interesting to watch and generally enhance the play experience for all. Although this is not required, players should take the opportunity to show off all aspects of the hobby.

Proxies (substitute models) and models that have not been released to the general public are not allowed under any circumstances.

All models must be WARMACHINE models (or HORDES models if approved by the EO) appropriate to the event. Conversions (modifications to Privateer Press models) are acceptable as long as they are clearly based on WARMACHINE or HORDES models. Conversions must clearly represent the model from which they are most obviously drawn. For example, a heavily converted Stryker model is not a suitable conversion for Caine.

On warrior models, converting and swapping weapons is acceptable as long as the new weapon represents the same type of weapon as the one replaced. For example, swapping a sword for a sword is legal, but swapping a sword for an axe is not. On warjack and warbeast models, weapons can be modified but they cannot be swapped for different weapons.

An EO can make exceptions and approve any reasonable conversion. To avoid confusion and conflict, players must have an unaltered version of the model available in case the EO determines that a questionable model is not acceptable for this event. The EO makes the final decision on any particular model.

event rulesThis event uses a free-play format that awards players Vengeance points for accomplishments in games, army construction, and modeling. All games must be played at the same point level; we recommend a point level of 50. Score sheets are provided to track points gained by fulfilling certain requirements. All games should be played using the event scenario. There is no limit on the number of games a player can play during the course of the event.

vengeanCe PointsThe EO checks off Vengeance point boxes on players’ score sheets at the end of each game. One game can fulfill the requirements for multiple achievements.

The Champion medal goes to the player with the most Vengeance points at the end of the event. The winner of the Champion medal is not eligible for any faction medal.

FaCtion medals

A faction medal goes to the player in each faction (Cygnar, Khador, Protectorate of Menoth, Cryx, Retribution of Scyrah, Convergence of Cyriss, and Mercenaries) with the most Vengeance points at the end of the event.

In the event of a tie for the Champion medal or a faction medal, the player who reached his point total first is awarded the medal. Alternatively, if two players are tied for a medal, at the EO’s discretion they can instead play one final game to determine who is awarded the medal.

desCriPtionA crate of priceless cargo has drawn the attention of two opposing forces. One side seeks to abscond with this prized possession, while the other must ensure that it never leaves this peaceful riverbank. Fire up your warjacks and prepare for battle—vengeance will be yours!

setuPFor this scenario, set up the river as shown on the map below using the templates provided. The river is considered shallow water. Place the 120 mm River Boat objective and the 50 mm Precious Cargo objective as shown on the map. The River Boat and the Precious Cargo are friendly Faction models to the defender, and they are enemy models to the raider.

Players roll a d6 for choice of raider or defender. The player who rolls the higher number chooses whether to be the raider or the defender for the game. The defender is always the first player. Player deployment zones are indicated on the map below.

Additional terrain should not be placed within 3˝ of either objective, the river, or any other terrain feature.

sPeCial rulesBefore each game begins, players compare the total number of Vengeance points they have earned so far in the event. The player with the fewest points gains one of the bonuses below, depending on whether he is the raider or the defender in the game. In the case of a tie, neither player gains the bonus.

• Raider Bonus: A raiding warcaster with the bonus gains Vendetta [Precious Cargo]. (A model with Vendetta [Precious Cargo] gains boosted attack and damage rolls against Precious Cargo models.)

• Defender Bonus: A defending warcaster with the bonus gains Repair [10] (HAction). (A model with Repair can attempt repairs on any damaged friendly Faction warjack. To attempt repairs, this model must be B2B with the damaged warjack and make a skill check. If the skill check is successful, remove d6 damage points from the warjack’s damage grid.)

viCtory ConditionsThe raider wins if the River Boat is destroyed or removed from play.

The defender wins if at the start of his turn the Precious Cargo is base-to-base with the River Boat.

A player wins if he has the only warcaster in play.
