sports, which was traditionally considered a hobby especially in India, is now being taken seriously as a career option. With the country's medal performance in wrestling, badminton, boxing , etc at the 2012 London Olympics and with F1 coming to India, its just not cricket which is a rage among the youth. Besides games, there are many other areas that are gaining in popularity within the ambit of sports such as medicine, management, physiotherapy, clinics, etc. Schools and colleges are also encouraging sports among students.At the school level, too, sports and fitness are being taken seriously; the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a vocational course in sports on fitness and gym operation from the academic session 2012-13.if sports is your passion and forte, you need not keep it on the inside track. A career that allows you to stay in touch with your favourite activity, yet make a living of it, sports management is one of the most demanded career profile internationally.

Salary of Indian cricket players

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced its central player contract for the year 2013.The contracted players are divided into 3 categories: Group A, Group B and Group C. The Indian board awarded contracts to 37 of India's best players, with nine getting Grade A (Rs 1 crore, around $186,000 per annum) , eight in Grade B (Rs 50 lakh, around $93,000 per annum) and 20 Grade C contracts (Rs 25 lakh, around $46,500 per annum).The players in the playing eleven of the team also get an additional fee:•Test Match: Rs 7 Lakh per match•One-Day Internationals: Rs 4 Lakh per match•Twenty20 Internationals: Rs 2 Lakh per match

SALARY OF AN COACH Athletic Trainer- Start out as an assistant athletic trainer

and you’ll earn around 3 lakhs per annum . Move up to head trainer, and your salary will rise to approximately 4lakh and 50 thousand per annum , according to the Salary Wizard.

   College Coach - Start out as an assistant coach earning

about 3lakh and 50 thousand per annum. Move up to nearly 5lakhs  when you’re the head coach, according to the Salary Wizard. Those who coach minor sports earn about 15 percent a year less  than those who coach major sports.

  Gym Teacher 

If you like children, you can get paid to play sports all day by getting a teaching certificate, and then landing a job as a physical education teacher. The median teacher salary is about 4lakhs and 75 thousand per annum according to the Salary Wizard.
