EASA

participation sponsors Denmark-Aarhus Each year, after finding the participants to EASA, the NCs apply for money from the School of Architecture to cover 1. participation fee 2. plane tickets. Each year [so far] it is granted; in 2007 we got 5* 640e to cover expenses for easa in Greece. The good will from the school might be an after-play from easa003 held near Aarhus. Croatia

1. Each year we apply for a sponsorship from Ministry of Education & Science sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

2. 2. We apply for a sponsorship from Croatian Chamber of Architects and we usually get money.

3. Our faculty sponsors us.

• We ask for money to cover our participation fee and travel expenses and we usually get our participation covered completely and our travel expenses 50%-70%.

• In order to get money we write a motivation letter

explaining what easa is, and our dean writes us a letter of support which kind of gives us credit. With these two papers we go to potential sponsors.

• EASA in Croatia is an N.G.O. which makes things a little bit

easier but it would be possible to do it if we were just a group of students.

Switzerland Lausanne: There is financial help for the costs of the trip covered by the school. We have to make a small booklet presenting easa report of the workshops after easa. We get for this approximately 200 Swiss francs per participants. Zurich: Complete traveling costs are paid by school.

• Participation fee for tutors is completely covered. • INCM traveling & participation fee is covered. • We get money for promoting easa [posters, parties]

Slovakia Asked for sponsoring of participation fees for all participants by a company called “Holcim” who have a program for sponsoring young architects already [competition] and supported easa after explaining what it is all about, the aims etc. Hungary Participation fees are covered by National Cultural Foundation. They have a competition for sponsoring architectural workshop fees abroad, announced every March. In return proof of payment and 3 A4 pages documentation per person is required. Turkey Participation fees are covered by REHAM. This firm was already the sponsor for the festival of Istanbul Technical University and we used our contacts. We prepared another sponsorpack with photos etc. and explained what kind of advantages this firm can get and we also used our atractivity. Greece Participation fees and travel costs are being covered so far only for participants coming from the National Technical University of Athens. The NTUA is covering every year traveling costs for educational trips calculated in their annual budget. So every year we have to apply for it in a very simple bureaucratic way of filling a formula. And the amount of money we get back [most of the times just the traveling costs] depends on the budget of the school and the proof of expenses we introduce to them after returning to Greece from easa.
