WELCOMEBorough Park has been the home of Workington AFC for the past eighty two years, with the stadium hosting the ups and downs of promotion and relegation, not to mention countless memorable matches.
It has been the stage for many fine managers with Bill Shankly, Joe Harvey, Ken Furphy and Keith Burkinshaw using Workington as a stepping stone to better things.
The pitch has hosted some wonderful players throughout the decades – the pre Munich Manchester United team, Tommy Docherty’s Chelsea team of the sixties, internationals and household names and many Reds players who have arrived as unknowns and left as heroes.
With your support the success of this West Cumbrian club can continue and strive to succeed against whatever adversity is thrown at us.

SPORTING COMMITMENTIn January, 2018, Allerdale Council announced exciting new plans for an 8,000 capacity stadium built on the land where Borough Park stands. This involved the old ground being demolished and Reds having to find a home for two seasons until the new facility was completed.
In Spring, 2019, a deal was finalised for Reds to ground share with their rugby league neighbours, Workington Town RLFC.
Unfortunately the councillors who made the original decision to build a new stadium were voted out of

power in June 2019 and the new council opted not to go ahead with a new 8,000 seater stadium, so we are staying put for our 2019-20 season at Borough Park.
