WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF IDEA WEEK?IDEA Week is a celebration of the blossoming startup and tech environment taking place at the University of Notre Dame and in the South Bend-Elkhart region. It is an acknowledgement that this area, once so singularly dependent on traditional manufacturing, is now poised to become a new tech hub in the nation.
HOW IS IT STRUCTURED?IDEA Week is split into four event types: LEARN, PLAY, MEET and COMPETE.
LEARN: Bring an open mind and learn from top leaders driving innovation in business and technology.
PLAY: Jump in for moments of serious PLAY at some of the country’s hottest acts.
MEET Make friends with creative thinkers like you over coffee every morning or drinks at night.
COMPETE Whether you’ve been dying to show off a bright-spark plan for a new local startup, or you’re an MBA student who can dream up business solutions at a moment’s notice, you’ll have a chance to win funding that can make your ideas real.
HEADLINE EVENTS: IDEA Week 2019 will contain at least 10 signature events we call “headline events.” These events either feature major speakers or are core to the purpose of IDEA Week. Some of these fall into the LEARN category while others fall into COMPETE.

HELP US TAKE IDEA WEEK, AND YOUR ORGANIZATION, TO NEW HEIGHTSDuring the inaugural IDEA Week in April 2018, 34 community and industry partners ranging from Booz Allen Hamilton and PNC Bank to Lippert Components and Kem Krest participated in panel discussions, showcased their brands at events like The Chainsmokers concert and received VIP access to presentations by the CEOs of FUBU and Zappos, to name a few.
But the most significant value these 34 partners experienced from IDEA Week was being part of something bigger than any participant imagined.
36,000 EYEBALLS, 18,000 MINDS AND THE START OF SOMETHING SPECIALDuring the first-ever IDEA Week, 18,000 people came together to exchange ideas, gain creative inspiration, and make connections that will push our region into its second great era. This small region of innovators participated in an experience that was bigger than themselves. To many in attendance it felt like a community vision manifested, a corner turned, a new beginning.
Our original 34 partner organizations will be forever linked in those 18,000 participants’ minds with innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial energy.
And to think, this was just year one.
With partners like you, we can create an experience that no participant will forget—and one that future participants can’t afford to miss. Depending on which partnership level you choose, the benefits to your organization will be both immediate and lasting.
