A Campaign of the Advancement Foundation

Here is an example of how valuable our social outreach program is for the community. “Faith in Action: This week a couple asked for our assistance with food at the Outreach Office. They are living in their car with their 2 children. The father is undergoing chemo treatments and struggling to find help for his medications. We gave them shelf stable foods as well as resources for his cancer treatment. The Outreach Office is a safe harbor for many families who are struggling like this family. Thank you to parishioners who continue to support this ministry with time, talent and treasure.” Please prayerful consider helping us achieve our Vision 2020 goal by submitting your capital campaign pledge.

Traveling Vocations Chalice Program

This program encourages families to pray regularly for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. Each week a family will receive the Vocation Chalice at Mass and take it home with a promise to “pray for vocations” during that week. The chalice may be displayed in a prominent place in the home where the family will gather together each day to pray, asking God to help raise awareness for vocations in our parish. At the end of the week, the family will bring the chalice back to the same Mass so the next family can take it home. We hope that through prayer, our parish may become a source of vocations to serve the diocese and the Church. If you are interested, please sign up in the binder located under the St. John the Apostle statue, or contact Vocations Chalice Program Coordinator: Bobby Donahoo, (817) 229-2196, [email protected].

Stewardship Reflection26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented. Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established...” Luke 16:25-26When God created the world He declared that it was good and He gave it to all mankind for us to enjoy. However, over the years we have created a chasm between those who have great gifts and those who do not. In today’s Gospel we see that with our own generosity we must bridge that gap between those who have much and those who have little or we may find ourselves on the wrong side of the chasm in the next life.
