List of features:Enables Admin to configure a mandatory Splash Pagethat requires a certain action from customer to proceed;

Can either redirect visitors to a Splash Page or displaya JavaScript Splash Page above the original page(JS should be enabled in visitors’ browser);

Allows for introducing Age Verificationand/or Acceptance of Terms of your website;

Redirects users that didn’t pass the Age Verificationto a “Forbidden” page configured by Admin;

Can remove or change product info/image for users thatdo not comply with the terms defined by the Splash Page;

Saves visitor’s Date of Birth and automatically fills inthe corresponding field during customer registration;

Doesn’t display the Splash Page for logged-in users whoalready performed an action required by the Splash Page;

Saves the session data for non-logged in users anddoesn’t display the same Splash Pages more thanonce for the same user;

Enables Admin to create severaldifferent Splash Pages for one store;

The functionality can be applied to the whole website,to different store views, to a category, subcategory,or to an individual product;

The functionality can be applied to a certain brand, providedthat you have AITOC’s Shop by Brands extension installed;

Enables Admin to create a User-Agent list for visitorswho don’t need to be redirected to a Splash Page (suchas search engine bots, so that they can index the page);

Content of the Splash Page can be edited with Magento’sstandard WYSIWYG editor.

1. How to activate the extension

To activate extension go to System

> Manage Aitoc Modules tick the

box and press “Save Module

Settings”

Here the minimum age for age verification

functionality can be set.

This name will be used as product name

for hidden product.

This is the CMS page user will be sent

to if he does not pass age verification.

This allows choosing global JavaScript

or Redirect mode for the whole site.

Here search engine spiders can be

specified what will be allowed to visit

closed pages.

This allows choosing CMS page/Age

Verification/Agreement block for the

whole site. This page/block will be

used if enabled for the whole site.


3. Splash Page attributes

Splash Page extension creates the

attributes:

aitsplash_ageverify

aitsplash_agreement

aitsplash_mode

aitsplash_page

These attributes should not be edited or

deleted as this will cause errors and

extension won’t function.


4. Setting Splash Page for category/subcategory

Here you can choose the Splash Page

mode. You can also choose the page to

be used as Splash (if needed) and the

block for Age Verification/Agreement

block.

There is also a setting to apply the

functionality to category /subcategories

only or apply to category /subcategories

and the products in them.

5. Setting Splash Page for products


Here you can choose the Splash Page

mode for the Product page. You can also

choose the page to be used as Splash (if

needed) and the block for Age

Verification/Agreement block.

They are created using the standard

magento means. Please see next page

for details.

6. Creating Pages/Static block for extension functionality


Here you can create the blocks for age

verification form as well as the block for

agreement form. These blocks are

needed to have Age Verification /

Agreement functionality

To use the splash page you need to have

a CMS page created using standard

magento means.

For Age Verification/Agreement you

need to have static blocks created using

standard magento means.

7. Hidden product on storefront

That’s how the product hidden by age verification is

displayed for those users who did not pass the age

verification.

Now you can get to “Rebate

Search” page using the links

in the header and in the footer.

7. Splash page and Agreement form in javascript mode


The search can be done by

product name and/or by

manufacturer. If “search only

active rebates” is checked the

search is done by currently active

rebates only.

Rebates are displayed one by one

in search results.

Keeping the search fields blank

(by default) displays all rebates

available in the store.

The link to applied item is

displayed if the product is active.

If product is inactive only the

name is displayed.
