Assignment Description: This assignment is designed to help you evaluate your introductory speech presentation by completing the Introduction Speech Self-Assessment form on page 2 and responding to the questions listed below. As you analyze your performance, consider your own reactions, your personal opinion of your performance, audience reactions during your presentation, and observations from viewing a videotape of your presentation. Your assessment should respond to all of the questions in the following six categories:

Purpose: How successful was your presentation? How well did you achieve your purpose, which was to introduce yourself to your classmates?

Audience: How well did you analyze the information you shared with your audience? How appropriate or inappropriate was the information you shared?

Organization: What made your introduction and conclusion effective or ineffective? How well did you organize the overall presentation?

Self: How professional was your attire? In what way(s) do you think your attire helped or hindered your presentation?

Delivery: What were your delivery strengths? How effective was your vocal and physical delivery? How effective was your use of language?

Future Presentations: If you were to present your speech again, what would you have done differently? How will you attempt to improve your delivery in future presentations?
