Solution
TRM offers the thermal remediation technique of Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH).
ERH uses the flow of alternating current electricity to heat soil and groundwater and
evaporate contaminants. Electric current is passed through a targeted soil volume
between subsurface electrodes.
The resistance to electrical flow causes the formation of heat and a rise in temperature,
approaching water boiling point.
Further energy causes a phase change and forms steam to remove volatile
contaminants
