BIOCOMPATIBILITYACC. TO EN ISO 10993-1

MBröckskes has certified the Smed Linecable range according to EN ISO 10993-1.

The testing institute HygCen Germany GmbH has subjectedour cables to a cytotoxicity test according to DIN EN ISO10993-5.

After having tested the cytotoxicity of the material accordingto DIN EN ISO 10993-5: 2009-10 the testing institute gavethe following statement: an evaluation of the scope of biolo-gical testing was carried out acc. to EN ISO 10993-1:2010-04.

In order to evaluate the biocompatibility of the product, acytotoxicity test acc. to DIN EN ISO 10993-5:2009 was con-sidered to be sufficient. The type and scope of the performedtests comply with the specifications acc. to EN ISO 10993-1:2010-04. If the test material is used in accordance with theregulations, no cytotoxic effects are to be expected.

A biological harmlessness according to EN ISO 10993-1 canbe certified.

Bmed S BasicFor all applications that have to be supported by smooth, fle-xible and increased mechanical properties Bmed S Basicwill offer the best solution.

Bmed S ClassicThe classic base material with high notch and tear resistanceas well as excellent flexibility, frequently proved for differentmedical devices.

Bmed S UltraflexibleAs the name implies, the special compound feature is its highflexibility offering a maximum degree of mobility to the user.

Bmed S ULFor the first time we successfully combined a biocompatibleBmed S material with the possibility for an UL-certificati-on. We are now able to offer a complete low-voltage range ofcables for medical devices with UL approval (e.g. power anddata cables, Bus cables, connection and single core cables).

Bmed S Platin„Non-Blooming“ means that there is no release of fission pro-ducts at the cable surface. This phenomenon is already redu-ced to a minimum level for each of our Bmed S com-pounds. With our Smed S Platin we are able to eliminate it

completely.

Bmed S PlusThis material of our Bmed Smed-family has the“plus” for handling facilitation. Due to the special recipewe developed a product with excellent properties forautomated strip-and-cut machines. This skill could bevery interesting to ensure fast handling of high runlength.

Bmed S UniversalThe skills of high mechanical resistance, superb flexi-bility and precious feel that unify every member of theBmed S-family is also part of Bmed Uni versal.Furthermore, the special material composition allowsan effortless separating of twin cables that are usedfor example on electrosurgery devices.

Our Bmed T-range is characterized by a redu-ced shore-hardness making the cable smootherand more flexible than PVC. Furthermore, thismaterial is free of halogen and very good for steri-lization (gas and radiation) as well as for a helixcable!

MBröckskes has completed its range of harnes-sed cables with the certification acc. to UL

Standard Wiring Harness „category ZPFW2 (UL)“ and„ZPFW8 (Canada)“ and herewith strengthens its position ascable specialist for cable harness acc. to customer’s specifi-cation.

Whenever harnessed cables are produced as componentpart of a final product for the North American and Canadianmarket, an UL certified cable harness is necessary. With theUL certification S ensures the detailed traceability of indi-vidual components as for example cables, plugs or sleevesand offers highest planning reliability also with special har-nessing products.

Underwriter Laboratories Inc. (UL), anindependent American test and certificati-on authority confirms the use of the mate-rials and documents required by the finalcustomer according to the UL certificati-on for “Wiring Harness” acc. to ZPFW2and ZPFW8. In the manufacturer’s database (www.ul.com ) S is listed underfile no. E473226 as a qualified and reli-able manufacturer.

The requirements for UL certified cable harness are control-led by external audits every three months in order to guaran-tee the high requirements of the UL standards. Besides ourcables also harnessed versions are tested in our own labora-tory with regard to safety and reliability and are marked withthe „Wiring Harness Label“.

On request S is able to manufacture cable harnessingproducts acc. to customer’s specification acc. to UL WiringHarnesses ZPFW2 and ZPFW8 from the cable to the har-ness and offers broad advice.
