•The tribes that lived in the southeast shelters are mounds and longhouses.

Climate The southeast is usually damp, wet,
an occasionally hot. Near the east coast it is humid.
Food in the SoutheastThe tribes were known as well farmers. They grew corn, gourds, tobacco, beans, sweet potatoes, and squash. The tribes also gathered nuts and berries from nearby forests. Some tribes hunted deer, and fished as well.
