Materials and Supplies

Class Notes, Classwork, and Homework• Class Notes (WORTH 2 GRADES EACH QUARTER)

• All notes to be copied on the composition notebook as required by the teacher• Proper Heading: Date (top right-hand corner of page, Title (center of page). (See poster!)• Do not forget to put your name, period, course name, and teacher name on the front

cover!!!

• Classwork • All classwork to be turned in to the teacher upon request. (A reasonable amount of time

will be allotted for each classwork. NO CLASSWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE ALLOTTED TIME! Under special circumstances, if a student needs extra time, a parent-teacher conference will be required.)

• Proper Heading : Name, Period, Date (top right-hand corner), Title (center of page) (See poster!)

• Homework• All homework to be turned in on the due date. Homework may be turned in upon return

to school if a student has an excused absence.• Proper Heading : Name, Period, Date (top right-hand corner), Title (center of page) (See

poster!)

• Class Notes, Classwork, and Homework• Done in pencil (NO EXCEPTIONS!) (Note: Student will be allowed to complete work in ink,

but work will not be graded until redone in pencil.)• All mathematics steps are to be shown… NO WORK => NO CREDIT!!!• All work needs to be neat and legible! (Note: Absolutely NO DOODLES, OR WORK WILL

NOT BE ACCEPTED!)• Collected and graded at random• If plagiarism is detected, both students will receive an “F”

All student seats will be assigned!

At times, desks will be arranged into groups (not for quizzes and tests) and students will be assigned a group to work with. All students will be participating in group activities. Your group will be reassigned at some point in time.

The daily itinerary will be as follows: Bell Ringer as you enter the class HW ready for teacher to collect HW review Teacher/Student presents a lesson, sets up an activity, or

assigns an assessment Students complete work and turn in to teacher New HW is assigned at the end of class. HW will be

posted in School Notes or the Class Collaboration Site.

Cooperative Learning/Behavior with Daily Lessons

Before dismissal, students turn in materials and check classroom for neatness. (Pick up papers from the floors, rearrange seats, etc.)

Students are to remain seated until the bell rings Bathroom passes will not be issued during instruction, nor at

the beginning or end of class. If bathroom privilege is abused, a call home will be required.

No food, no drinks, no chewing gum (water bottles are OK!) No cell phones in use or on display (phone will be confiscated

learning environment. (Believe you CAN achieve and set GOALS for yourself. Treat others the way you like to be treated!)

Listen carefully to the teacher and others while you are in a group activity. Contribute to the group! Ask questions to your classmates and to your teacher. Help others when asked!

Cooperative Learning/Behavior with Daily Lessons (Continued)

Rewards Achievement Awards every quarter (“Highest

Achievement”, “Model Student”, “Exemplary Classroom Behavior”, “Most Improved”)

Positive email or phone call to parent/guardian Skip assignment Time in class to do homework Extra Credit Occasional treats!

Consequences In escalating mode: verbal warning discipline note

CSI/Referral to administration with phone call to parent/guardian CSI/Referral with parent-teacher conference required before return to classroom. (Note: Depending on the severity of the behavior, the teacher may choose to escalate consequence.)

Rewards and Consequences

Tests/Quizzes (50%) Quizzes will be announced and unannounced (WORTH 1

GRADE) Tests will be announced and given at the end of each

Attendance/Make-Up Policy• ABSENCES

• If absent for one class missed assignments due next class

• If absent for more than one class same number of classes to turn in missed assignments

• All work needs to have an excused absence attached• Missed assignments may be obtained online. No excuse

for not knowing what was assigned in class!• Missed tests and/or quizzes may be taken during class

with advance notification to teacher• No work will be accepted after the deadlines stated.

Failure to complete make up work on time will result in a zero (Z) for that assignment. REMEMBER: IT IS NOT THE TEACHER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO REMIND YOU!!!

• TARDIES• Students need to be in the classroom before the bell rings.
