Depart Brisbane flying to Cape Town with South African Airways.
where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the two nights
stay, the Southern Sun Waterfront. Evening at leisure tonight.day 1
Embark on a full day Cape Point tour. Enjoy a seafood lunch at
Simon’s Town and visit the African Penguins at Boulders
Beach. Return to the hotel before visiting a Hout Bay home for
dinner where we take pleasure in a typical home braai with the
locals. (B, L, D)
day 3
Our first stop is at Fairview Estate in Paarl where we can sample both
wine and goats cheese. Moving onto Haute Cabrière vineyard for
lunch which has been part of the Franscchhoek Wine Valley family for
over 300-years. Our last winery is in Stellenbosch, the Waterford
Estate, it’s said to be an all-encompassing sensory experience
with the production of both wine and custom made chocolate.
Dinner tonight will be at the hotel. (B, L, D)
day 5
Over the next two days travel out with a professional game ranger to
explore the Pilanesberg National Park which sits in a 1200 million
year old volcano. You might see elephants, lions, cheetahs and
even leopards! (B, L, D)day 7-8
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at our hotel we will check out
and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to ex-plore Johannesburg
adhered of our transfer to Johannes-burg International Airport for
our homeward flight with South African Airways. The following
afternoon we will arrive into Brisbane and our unfor-gettable
culinary experience will come to an end. (B)
day 10& 11
Today begins with a half day Cape Malay Cooking Safari, firstly visit theBo-Kaap Museum to get a feel of the traditions of the area. Take part in
a ‘hands on’ cooking class and prepare a traditional Malay meal in alocal home where lunch will be the fruits of your labour! Later see thesights of Cape Town including a cable car ride to Table Mountain. Dineon a seven-course wine paired Cape Town Welcome ‘tasting’ dinnerat the Mayoga Restaurant. (B, L, D)
day 2
Drive to Stellenbosch to the Cape Winelands and explore your Palette
on a Cape Cuisine walk. Sample indigenous teas, wine tastings and
a heritage platter lunch before checking into the hotel. Tonight’s
dinner is at De Volkskombuis Restaurant where they specialise in
Cape cuisine in authentic Cape Dutch surroundings. Two night stay:
The Lanzerac Hotel & Spa or similar (B, L, D)
day 4
Depart the Winelands and fly to O R Tambo International Airport,
Johannesburg, and then transfer to the Ivory Tree Game Lodge. Check
in before you experience your first game drive to see the Big 5 and
then unwind at the Ivory Tree Spa or sit and relax with the stunning
natural amphitheatre views. Three night stay: Ivory Tree Game Lodge
or similar. (B, L, D) day 6
A final game drive before departing the lodge and travelling back to
Johannesburg. On arrival take in a half-day tour of Soweto including
Nelson Mandela House. Lunch is at the Sakhumzi’s Restaurant which
specialises in African township cuisine. Have the evening to spend at
your own leisure after dinner at the hotel. Overnight: Crowne Plaza
Johannesburg – The Rosebank or similar. (B, L, D)
