Design & Engineering
Souplesse frame
At first glance, our three E-Light frames are almost unrecognisable as e-bikes. The inconspicuous and lightweight aluminium frames with integrated drive elements score with understatement, sheer elegance and state-of-the-art system integration. The Souplesse GP is ideally suited for the Gates™ Carbon Drive belt.
Custom bottom bracket & chainstay yoke
With the GRX version of the Souplesse, the bottom bracket plays a key role. As with the Pinion mount, it serves as an important connecting element and provides an opening for mounting and removing the battery. In combination with the chainstay yoke, it ensures the necessary stiffness and sufficient freedom for chain ring and tire.
Custom aluminium dropout
While developing the Souplesse, we created a new custom dropout which, thanks to interchan-geable inserts, is compatible with various axle standards. With regard to the brake mount, it is also definitely "state-of-the-art" with its flat-mount standard.
Gates™ Carbon Drive
The carbon fibre-reinforced elastomer belt from Gates™ is a long-lasting drive solution. Operating grease-free, the belt convinces with its extreme tensile strength. Ideal for your Souplesse GP.

MAHLE ebikemotion system
As a supplier of motor systems and components, MAHLE aspires to make mobility in the future more efficient, more environmentally friendly and more comfortable. With the ebikemotion X35, MAHLE offers an efficient platform for smart e-bikes and delivers unprecedented freedom in terms of design through its light and compact construction.
iWoc® ONE interfaceMAHLE’s iWoc® ONE button is a smart solution for operating your Souplesse model. Inconspicuously located on the downtube, the iModule with Bluetooth® function displays all necessary information, such as battery charge state and support levels.
Rear motor drive M1 X35The compact, gearless rear motor is the heart of the Souplesse. The latest motor technology makes it even more robust and more powerful. The «Drive M1» (25 km/h) convinces with extremely smooth and quiet running and, with 40 Nm, ensures powerfully dynamic support.
Panasonic battery 250 WhA fully integrated lithium-ion downtube battery from Panasonic is used on the Souplesse. Should servicing be necessary, the battery can only be removed by trained mechanics through the bottom bracket. We are the-reby able to optimally use the available installation space. All Souplesse models provide you with a battery capacity of 250 Wh; the battery is charged via the recharge socket located directly on the downtube.

Pinion C-Line & DS2 rotary shifter
The compact magnesium housing of the C-Line is 33 % lighter than comparable housing made of aluminium. New manufacturing processes and extremely high precision allow new lightweight all-oys to be used. Integration is also a priority: we integrate brake lines and electric cables invisibly in the downtube with the Souplesse. The packet is rounded off with the DS2 rotary shifter. This con-vinces with its intuitive shifting. The grip, developed together with Ergon, makes shifting possible in the wet, cold, heat as well as under heavy load.
Pinion gearbox transmissions
The idea behind the Pinion central gearbox was born in the Porsche gearbox development centre in Weissach (Germany). The founders were driven by the aim of developing a bicycle transmission that functions as intuitively, precisely and as wear-free as a sports car. We have been using Pinion gear-boxes on our models for seven years. With the Souplesse series, the C-Line with 9 and 12 gears with Gates belt is used in addition to a GRX 1x11 derailleur system. In combination with a rear motor, this results in harmonious riding comfort, thereby reducing wear on the drive. «The new shape of shifting».

Shimano derailleur system
Shimano’s new groupset is the first one designed especially for use on unpaved roads. Here, the Japanese engineers combine proven road and mountain bike technologies to create gravel-specific components under the name «GRX». What works off-road is also suitable for daily use in the city. With the Souplesse, we use the mechanical model with 1x11 drivetrain. In combination with Deore brakes, this is a group that is ready for serious everyday use and also offers outstanding durability.
Shimano GRX 800 & SL-RS700 shift lever
A sensible mix of Shimano’s GRX group and proven Deore components forms the basis for the Souplesse with derailleur system. Our E-Light series is equipped with components suitable for demanding daily use: a 1x crank (40 teeth), an 11-42 cassette with sufficient gear reserve, a rear derailleur with Shadow Plus function as well as powerful disc brakes. Shifting is performed with the SL-RS700 shift lever. The integration of all cables rounds out the package.

The MTB Cycletech Souplesse carries you elegantly and powerfully through everyday urban life. The uniquely unassuming frame features an intentional asymmetry on the downtube. This is also the only place where the hidden technology of the MAHLE ebikemotion drive becomes visible. Using the ONE switch on the downtube, you can activate various support levels as necessary. You can either do your share by pedalling the lightweight GRX 1x11 group from Shimano or opt for the low-maintenance Pinion bottom-bracket gearbox in combination with the Gates belt. Take off «a la souplesse»!
