HOLY WEEK AND EASTER WORSHIP
Palm and Passion Weekend—Saturday March 27 at 5pm and Sunday March 28 at 9:15am
We begin with palms, and end in anticipation of the week’s coming events. A service of the passion story.
Maundy Thursday-April 1st 7:00 pm Reservation Required Call the church office at (716) 741-2656 Due to covid
restrictions the Sanctuary will be able to fit 100 people. outside screen and broadcasting over WZLN 1630
Here we gather around the Lord’s table in remembrance of our Lord’s Last Supper with his disciples. The dramatic strip-ping of the altar symbolizes our Lord’s naked humility and abandonment. This service marks the First Communion of our students who have gone through the First Communion classes.
Good Friday-April 2nd- 7:00 pm Reservation Required Call the church office at (716) 741-2656 Due to covid restrictions the Sanctuary will be able to fit 100 people. outside screen and broadcasting over WZLN 1630
The 7:00 PM service is Tenebrae, a dramatic service of diminishing light to commemorate our Lord’s crucifixion.
Easter Vigil-April 3rd– 5:00 pm
Our contemporary evening worship takes on a new dimension as we celebrate the ancient tradition of the
“Easter Vigil”.
Easter Sunday-April 4th– 9:15am Reservation Required Call the church office at (716) 741-2656 Due to covid
restrictions the Sanctuary will be able to fit 100 people.
On Easter we celebrate the bodily resurrection of our Lord from the grave. Come and worship as we gather together with joy and excitement to celebrate the risen Lord, greeting each other with the words, “Christ is risen!” “He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!”

A Thank you letter came from Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center. Thanking us for the $900 dollar donation check.
Good Morning Susan, I just wanted to thank you and give you an update. Please share with the congregation our thanks for all they do for our Veterans at Altamont. The men were extremely grate-ful for the gift cards and a lot of them used them to pur-chase items they needed or used them for Christmas gifts. The remaining cards have been used to purchase new coffee pots for both buildings, needy items like sheets, towels for the facility. We have been purchasing 5 gallon jugs of water as we were blessed with a water cool-er and we purchase them with gift cards. We still have a lot left and they are used for many items needed on a daily basis. One of the big items is cleaning supplies. We are truly Blessed by all you have done for the homeless veter-ans who have come through our walls. Your church is a true example of what Christ's love is. Thank you so very much! Ron Graham, Rev. Dr. Ph.D. MHSC/MA Military Resiliency Director, Altamont Homeless Veterans Clinical Residential Program
Dear Zion family, After the passing of our mother, Arlene Tesnow, we appreciate all of your prayers, cards and condolences that our family received. Thank you for everything that the congregation did for our family, especially Pastors Charles and Steve Biegner for the memorable funeral service on February 4. Thank you, Karen Wright and Marsha Glose families

Angel Food Ministry
The Angel Food Ministry now has a small group of dedicated volunteers who have offered to cook meals for those in our congregation who are in need. So how does Angel Food Ministry work? If you have a short term need for meals such as recovering from surgery or illness, death in your family, birth of a new baby etc. please contact me. I'll do an initial screening of individual needs and then get the team of volunteers organized to develop a meal schedule that will work for all. We can still use volunteers who would be willing to cook a meal from time to time for a family in need. The more volunteers we have, the more families we can serve. Karen Forster-829-9565
Volunteers needed!
The Audio Visual Team is in great need of volunteers to help at the Saturday 5pm and Sunday 9:15 am services.
Training is available. Call Elizabeth Schmidt for Saturday service 445-1370 and/or Dan Wilkinson for Sunday service 741-1017. Readers are needed especially for the Saturday service at 5:00 pm, and needed on Sunday morning service at 9:15am as well. Lessons are mailed or emailed early in the week before your assigned day. Call the church office at 741-2656.

Bequests From time to time, Zion receives both undesig-nated and designated gifts. For undesignated bequests, a formula is applied to those funds as follows: The Building Expansion Fund 50% The Campership Memorial Fund 20% The Current Needs Fund 20% Given to a ministry outside of Zion 10%
This distribution formula has been in place for over 20 years, and is subject to change based upon the church’s current and future needs. Just thought you ought to know that. Have you remembered your church in yours?
