1. Unload the pole (PCC or RSJ pole) at site by vendor during dispatch at road side.

2. Shift the pole by contract workmen by manually at erection location.

3. Dig the pit for erection of pole. Use insulated crowbar for digging purpose.

4. Pole erection done by manually.

5. Please see the given picture A - Do the assembly of pole i.e. fix the cross arm,

stay clamp, extension clamp for insulator and other hardware to be fixed on ground only and tie the Karamental Rope to top portion of pole also on ground as shown in given below picture. Also tie nylon rope at all four sides to hold the pole after erecting the same.

6. Make sure that sufficient manpower should be available at site for pole erection.

7. Lift the pole manually into the pit as shown in given below Picture D.

8. Trained supervisor must be available at site all the time. Conduct Tool Box Talk at site by supervisor / engineer and explain about the work to be carried out for a day with associated hazards and their control measures. Follow Site Specific Tool Box Talk format with Contractor declaration for record as evidence.

9. Grout the Stay clamp or earthing plates near the pole and tie the karamental both

end of rope with the clamp on ground as shown in given below Picture E. But make sure that rope should not get loosen.

10. After pole erection, Concreting to be done into the pit and after 24 hrs of concreting only after getting clearance from Site In-charge / Engineer, then only allow workman to climb on pole. Before climbing, workman must wear Full Body Harness with double lanyard with scaffolding hook and kinetic absorber as shown in given below pic.

11. Tie the Nylon Rope at all four sides to hold the same after lifting / erecting the pole. Check the condition of rope visually before start the activity. Do not use damage rope.

Nylon Rope got broken and for holding the pole use same rope by tying the knot as shown in picture. It is UNSAFE.
