Adding a Background to your slide:

Adding Borders (Outlines) and Fill to Text Boxes, Photos and Shapes:

Once you insert either Clip

Art or a Photo, the Format

Ribbon will automatically be

selected, with the Picture

Tools menu showing

Click on the drop down menu near “Picture Border”, here you can choose the color

outline you want along with the style of outline and weight. Make sure your picture

is selected so the program knows where you want the outline style applied to.

Explore the other effects found in the Picture Tools

To Fill your clip art

image or text box,

click on the “Home”

ribbon and select

“Shape Fill”, here you

can choose a color

and/or effect. Make

sure your clip art,

picture or text box is

selected; as you hover

over different options

you will see the image

change

Adding WordArt:

Choose the “Insert” ribbon

and Click on “WordArt”;

you will then have to

select the style of

WordArt. Click on one and

a text box will be placed

onto your slide, waiting

for text to be entered.

Type in your text.

Make sure your text is selected

and highlighted, explore all the

effects offered to customize your

WordArt. You can transform the

type, add a shadow, reflection,

glow, or bevel. You can also

change the text color and

outline. You will get a preview of

the different effects when you

hover over the options, (see how

it will change your text)

Adding Transitions between your slides:

A Note on Transitions: A general rule is to not include more

than two different transition styles throughout your slide

show. A different transition between each slide becomes

distracting to your overall presentation.

Adding Custom Animation:

Choose the “Animations” ribbon, and click on

“Custom Animation”; a menu window will open along the right side of the screen

Make sure the item you want to add animation

to is selected

Click on “Add Effect” and Choose the type of Effect you want

to apply. (To see all the options click on “More Effects”

Make sure the “Preview

Effect” box is checked in

the lower left hand corner,

now if you click on an

effect you will see what it

will look like when applied

to your image or text.

Once you have made your

choice, click “OK”
